  1. Well, maybe that 6 months comment was to make me feel like I haven't been totally bent over for the last 3 years. Lol
  2. I can't remember anything really specific, but it seems like they had a really great price on the 1000 count snaps. Of course, it was business "on sale" pricing. But how much did that elite membership cost?
  3. That sheath looks fantastic.
  4. Oh for dying I have a huge ⅜" plexiglass sheet from church. It was the type you put on the floor for a computer chair. I set it up when I am dying or laminating the big stuff.
  5. Last time I was in Tandy the manager mentioned business membership. This is not the elite membership, but rather real wholesale pricing for leather businesses. Supposedly, all you need is your tax ID number to qualify. There is no annual membership dues. Now this isn't something that they have been doing all along. One of the employees said it had been going on for about 6 months. They let me have a peek at the pricing and I must say, the discounts were substantial. So, give your favorite Tandy a ring and check into it. I don't have a business, but I certainly wanted to pass this along.
  6. Ooooooo international latte da schindigg.
  7. Yep, I have been semi motivated to change it all up. I gathered some cabinets from a demo. They are almost ready to install. That will make the wife happy, since they have been in the dining room for a month. I also have plans for a spray booth thanks to an unexpected gift from @Mattsbagger.
  8. I haven't been, but these are national events. Definitely book a room as early as possible.
  9. I will guess the black one is the real alligator. Good job, and keep having fun.
  10. That would be a great idea, if it could be done at the user level in 5 minutes or so. It would also help with all the "which machine should I buy" questions. There's at least 10 of those a week. Then we could just answer.... "Get a juki 441 clone and this super kit from Uwe, and sew whatever you want".
  11. Contact cement. Barge's or weldwood. There are some that have less odor, but I haven't tried them.
  12. That is cool. Old, but not so slow anymore.
  13. A Lowe's or hd brand mini plier sets come in handy. You know the tiny ones with needle nose and straight jaw pliers. There are usually 4 or 5 different ones in the set for 10 bucks. I use those things all the time. Automotive sand paper. Wax paper. Super useful for gluing. The contact cement barely sticks to it. Works great for the spray adhesive too. I have read of others using coffee to stain leather as well.
  14. Very cool looking little spaceships??? How did you make that funny little shape? Your tooling looks really good too.
  15. If you are planning to see it afterwards, sure. Most of us here use contact cement. I like the 4oz version of weldwood. I get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. Lots of people here like Barge's cement. When I glue something that I can allow to wait for the night I use the fiebings leather glue. It's kind of like Elmer's. But, I don't know if that would work for the chrome tanned, never tried that. There is no dumb question here, only costly mistakes. Also, get in the mindset of trying everything on scraps first. It will save you lots of grief in the long run. Have fun.
  16. EECH OUCH OOOOCH!!!
  17. That sure is a pretty purple.
  18. Thanks, good luck with the sale.
  19. You got me wondering now..... Maybe we should just use feeler gauges?
  20. Of course you know I was joking..... So, you get one holster and one mag holder from each boot?
  21. Price, location, shipping?
  22. Great job, once again. Now, if we can just get rid of that foot odor......
