  1. Me too, dumby over this way....
  2. Some people have been known to turn a roller skate or pallet jack wheel into a mallet head. That, a bolt, a nut, a washer, and a few pieces of stacked could make a pretty nice mallet.
  3. Great job. First time I have seen a bicycle chain utilized in leather work.
  4. Yep, looks like you have been really busy. That all looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
  5. For what you are making there is no need to change. The side shouldn't be priced that much higher unless it is a better quality tannage. Also, a shoulder is part of a whole side. In a side you have the shoulder, belly, and back. The back is going to be the strongest due to the straighter grain.
  6. Sounds like champagne problems to me.... Sorry, I don't have much advice on this, but a laser bouncing around in a trailer sounds bad. You may want to keep it dedicated to the permanent shop.
  7. Thanks for looking out for the newer folks.
  8. These are super fantastic, Brian. Your shop always makes the most impressive looking stuff. If you are going to show it in a later post, don't worry about replying, but I'm curious about the "bumpers" you put on the bottom of the bags. How did you attach them?
  9. That looks great for an early effort. Love the color too.
  10. Yep, there are some really talented folks here. Your color combination is fabulous.
  11. I understand.
  12. Now I just want to come up there and roll around in it.
  13. Nothing wrong with self promotion. You gotta stay in front people or they forget about you. Plus, we love seeing that beautiful flat top.
  14. I found this website from Tim Skyrme http://www.shoemakingbook.com/index.htm This looks like it could be the most put together book. I don't know if it covers making a last or not? Finding lasts in small quantities may prove to be the hardest part.
  15. Welcome aboard. Those look nice.
  16. Well, that is pretty exciting.
  17. Just think, when you get even better, she will already be loaded down with the old stuff. Great job.
  18. Welcome back, Phil.
  19. @billybopp, it was Tim who's name I couldn't remember. Thanks. His stuff is great.
  20. You can always try and sell it here. Most people sell by the pound + shipping. Some people even give it away to newbies.
  21. She has a DVD set. It retails for $800.00, I believe. And she is an advertiser here. She is very well known and sought after. I think her base cowboy boots start @ $5,000.00.
