  1. Very nice looking belt and excellent job on the inlays. That does look like alot of stitching. Cool gun also, those are pretty rare arent they. I havnt heard anyone talk about those since I was a kid lol.
  2. Thanks, yeah that w/c stuff is nice. Im trying to use up my tandy stock on myself and am gonna try the 7/8oz for the top (center) and 4/5 for the sides and back for the wet molding part.
  3. Revival time. Was wondering, would you guys that like to tool good and deep and what not would you recommend about 7oz for the top or center portion and then say 4/5oz for the sides so that it will mold easier. Do you guys think this will look funny at all or should it work out or should I go with 4/5oz all the way around.
  4. Looks good swivel. Nice clean construction, and great job on the dragon carving. What did you use to color the dragon?
  5. Thats a pretty cool effect. Great job overall on that bag.
  6. Thats pretty cool, congrats.
  7. Im with gary on this one. So far I picked up a pack of the assorted wood chisel (they are pretty heavy duty) and they will slice thru leather like noones business. Punch a hole at each end then use the chisel, I make sire the flat part of the chisel is pointed out toward the work. THis isnt a perfect solution as I usually end up cleaning it up a tad with the xacto where the chisel and hole punch marks line up but other then that it looks pretty darn good.
  8. You bring up a good point there
  9. Well my ex and I broke up and the camera was hers so right now I am without a camera. Im trying to save up right now and hopeful after a little while Ill get a decent one.
  10. Looks really good. Im using similer stuff. Neoprene. Pretty much the same idea. I am glad you like it, means Im on the right track. Annoying how bad the stock yammie seats are, they are like the first aftermarket thing that anyone gets. Thanks for the offer on the stock foam but I wont need it. So far mines coming along nicely.
  11. OK so I am doing one of those big ol cruiser seats, its a star roadliner (yamaha) but anyways the seat pan has alot of raised plastic that makes up I guess to help deal with rigidity. I am redoing mine and cant use the stock foam (previouse experiment dont ask) so was wondering what is the best way to fill in all the pockets. Ive been racking my brain and besides cutting out little pieces individually I was thinking of using some of that foam in a can stuff that you can get at lowes. Its for sealing windows and stuff. Thought maybe spray it into all the pockets, let it expand and dry, then take the electric knife to it and cut it smooth with the top of the rest of the plastic on the seat pan. THinking this will give me a nice even surface to start layering my neoprene for the seat. Any other ideas. Also sorry I dont have a camera at the moment.
  12. Very nice, great combos of color and such. I did my first revers color on a wallet this week. Looked really cool. Was easier then I thought it was gonna be and I love the effect.
  13. Those are some real nice holsters. Really clean and attention to detail is superb. Also great pictures as well.
  14. Looks outstanding, the swivel knife work on the skull really adds to the over all affect. Whats the width of the lace you used for the edge, it looks pretty wide and I must say that it looks really good.
  15. That is actually one of the hardest parts most of the time, planning out your project. I know it is for me anyways.
  16. That looks really interesting, you got any better photos by chance, would love to see a close up.
  17. At first yes the leather will not be ready to form, you gotta let it dry for a while. Dont let it completely dry out but set it in front of a fan for a little while. Then wet form it and you should be good to go. I just use the feibings I think it is, something like a nuetral shoe polish works good also.
  18. I would try assempling, then dunk in vine for a few minutes, rinse, then give it a quick bakind soda bath. After that allow it to dry enough to form well and do your wet forming and allow to dry completely after this. Then do your oil/conditioning. The only thing Ive used on vinegaroon is leather balm with attom wax and it stays nice and black. As stated though the process brings tallows or waxes to the surface of the leather which makes it about as sealed as its gonna get IMO.
  19. That is a great job Tina, looks like it took a while to say the least. I really like your style its definatly all your own. Dont forget about us when you hop over the pond and have a safe trip.

  21. That is way cool, thanks for the tutorial of sorts.
  22. I agree with everyone here in a way. I think on some items a well placed mark that fits the tooling is fine HOWEVER I prefer not to see the mark on the outside of something. Atleast anything I would buy. I think that anyone who sees a piece of leatherwork and likes it will instinctively look for a tag "aka makers mark" on the item and usually will look inside or on the back. It all depends on the item though so go with what you think will look the best.
  23. I had no idea what to expect before I got his video a while back and when I first started watching it I was like "oh man thats it" but then I kept watching it and it just got better and better. I must agree his video is a must have, my only wish is that he had time to make more of them. Such a shame really. Plus seeing the guys technique really opened up alot of more ideas.
  24. Those are actually some pretty cool bags, great job on the repairs. Too bad he didnt get to see them.
  25. That looks really good IMO. I like the deep contrast you have going on with the floral pattern. I see that you dyed the background, was wondering on the floral though did you dye some of it or did you use antique?
