I work with exocits on a regular, the armor plates can be removed tho it will leave holes. It is possible tho the time it would take would not be worth the effort. If you want smooth alligator/croc/camin I would recommend using the belly of them. if you just want to try you will have to cut around each armor plate & skin the hide. Much like skinning a deer or cow ect. for processing. Then you would have to lay the piece back flat & glue into place from the opposite side. If you are going to use the tail, that task is near impossible as you can not lay the raised tail section flat. No place to lay them.

i normally dye first then gum finish... color usually shows well

look at springfield leather company.... 205 will hold beyond your needs they have many colors

using a 7oz will have some stretch or flex. i would not use anything less than a 7oz & latigo. Latigo is designed for for use in the outdoors. it is the main leather used in horse gear. that looks like they used steer hair on hide. that would also work. i would coat the back with Aussie leather conditioner or Skidmore's waterproofing .

i have dealt with this issue so here are some things to look at if you have swapped tee shirts that will be the start of the issue. not knowing what chemicals the shirt have come in contact with will change the adhesion/composition of the finish. this includes laundry detergents or soaps if the finish is water base you may have to dilute the finish. the finish may have changed composition from your supplier with out notice. air quality.... changes in humidity can also cause this to happen. think of it as painting a car, the wrong humidity in the air can cause what is known as Fish Eye in the paint, same thing is happing here

call springfield leather or to their web site. on the web site you can goto education, then ask the pros. between all of them they will have the knowledge to explain how to do it

there are a few things that could cause this. 1. the needle is bent. 2. the wrong needle has been put in 3. i believe this to be your issue, it sounds like the machine is out of time. like a car the parts of your machine have to work together. When they don't your machine will not move or in your case the needle hits.

sounds like it would work, tho you may try the leather/rubber cement bond that is used for glueing leather. you would probably have a better response as you will be around a moisture rich environment

Nettie you can redo the wiring and run it to test. In normal use if the machine has an oil sump you will have to use oil. It should have an oil sump under it. There is designated sewing machine oil. You can not use any other oil. Transporting... you should have a removal plug for draining the oil when changed. So you would have to remove & fill upon setup. if any of the material is metal you could get a gold plater. it also plates in other colors. i have one im selling, like it i just dont use it. for leather i wouldn't recommend any foil. it doesn't flex enough & will not with stand the use
