  2. Thanks for updating us, Johanna. Can't wait to see pictures of the show. Excellent job, Tina! Woohoo!! Crystal
  3. Hi All- Just wanted to share these pictures that a friend sent me. Says the deer are in the Butler, Pennsylvania area. Enjoy. Crystal
  4. Hi Scouter- You don't want to slip through the stirrup and get a leg caught up. Not a fun thing to get dragged. (Never happened to me - the drag part - but the slip part, yep, when I was a kid.) Cowboy boots have smooth soles and heels - the heels to help keep your foot from sliding through, the smooth soles to help get your foot back out. Now, the pointy toe thing with the cowboy boot - I could do without that. But I am sure there is a reason for that other than to cramp up toes. The metal? Not sure. Could be a weight issue (but there is aluminum)... don't know. Crystal
  5. Neat idea using puzzle pieces! I like that you colored them - makes it stand out! Crystal
  6. Careful - I've only been here less than 6 weeks and the mojo from this board has me thinking I can actually make everything I see. Don't want to have customers showing up and leaving with some dead cow and tools.... Crystal
  7. Hi Bev- Did you try a google search for ultrasuede (one word). There seems to be a pretty long list of companies. One was DenverFabrics.com. I am not sure if what they have is exactly what you are looking for. As for the elastic - got me. Did you try a local sewing shop or store? Crystal
  8. Thank you. Wasn't sure if meant "bring buffalo and sage brush...
  9. Forgot a question - What does "ranged event" mean? Thanks- Crystal
  10. Hi - I looked at the info on this and didn't see any workshops listed (what, who, dates, times, etc.) Is there anything on that yet? I can get there with a few hops, skips and jumps, but would like to see what classes are available first. Thanks- Crystal
  11. Very Nice, LB! Can't give you any pointers - haven't figured out whay I am doing yet - but I can say that I think this looks very good. I like the feathers and hair and the way you accented both with the dye. Should look very nice on your bike. Crystal
  12. Very nice job. I like the purse and tooling design! Nice stitching. Crystal
  13. Someone more computer savy please jump in here... Go to your photo program and do a resize on your picture - reduce the pixel size. Resave the pic with the new size. See if that helps.
  14. Wish I could figure out how to just link this...agghh. Take a look at different horse jobs on YouTube. Might help you understand some of the reasons why there are so may different types. Go to Youtube.com and type in these titles in the search bar: The Thrill of Cutting NRHA Futurity 2007 Stacy Westfall Congress Freestyle 06 (sometimes you don't need a saddle or bridle ) Andreas Helgstrand - WEG2006 Freestyle Final Enjoy! Crystal
  15. Most definitely not ignorant questions - I am very interested to see the replies you get. I have had horses my entire life and can't really tell you much on the saddle end. I can tell if a saddle doesn't fit a horse "right" but I am at a loss to explain the construction aspect as to why it fits right or not. (Bars - trees - rigging) There are all different purposes - (Western)Roping, Reining, Barrel racing, Western Pleasure, Trail, Endurance, (English)Jumping, Dressage, Hunt Seat... and I am not even touching this list. I am sure you will get some very good explainations here. Do a web search for saddles and see if you can get a catalog sent to you... you can see different pictures of all different types and be able to get a visual comparison. Then stir the pot a little and bring up the topic of bits... Crystal
  16. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?s...amp;hl=pictures http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/How-to-uplo...st-t185663.html You can do a search to find this topic I got this from another post. It helped me figure it out. (I am tech challenged.) Crystal
  17. Hubby's going to get nervous when I start breaking into his tool box. Crystal
  18. Thanks, Marlon. If I am understanding this - strop it so I am taking all the edges through the rouge - not like a swivel knife (on edge). Right?
  19. Thanks, Dale. I am learning fast that no tool is perfect. Crystal
  20. Hi Clay - Thank you. I haven't tried it on my piece - just on some scraps. The outside edges seem to catch more than the inside blades and I am getting light centers and deeper outsides from the 4 or so edges on the tool. I am trying to keep it pretty plumb and using short strokes like you mentioned. I may just need to do more practice. I like your other suggestions - I may put this techinque on the back burner and see if I can get somewhere close to what I want without it. Thanks again! Crystal
  21. Hi All- I am attempting project no 2 and wanted to add some texture with a Craftool Hair Blade that I just got. I am not happy with how any of my test pieces have come out. Seems too "scratchy" not enough texture. I don't want a lot of definition - just the impression of some hair. Chuck it and use something else? Keep the tool and chuck the operator? Pretend the subject is wet and keep the whole project smooth? Any tips are greatly appreciated! Crystal

Beautiful! I really like how you did the cap piece. And I do love that braiding. Crystal
  23. 4-5oz is what I am learning on. (All I have.) You do need to be careful about getting too deep and going through it. I would imagine that you will need to do casing and rewetting a bit different than the heavier weights. (Guessing that not sure.) Good luck! Let us see what you do! Crystal
  24. Hi Rookie - RC - rubber cement. Crystal
