  1. Thanks much! Something like 4.5" x 6" I just hate throwing away leather. I usually end up practicing new techniques or patterns out o get a feel.
  2. That totally looks cool. I love the combinations of materials. Sweet work! I too like the black leather with the red stitching. Very striking combo!
  3. I am going to try and get some shots of my wine bottle wrap and my Jack Daniels Bottle wrap this weekend.
  4. Nice job Tina. We seem to be having a Celtic morning or something. HA!
  5. Something I designed for a friend of mine that will be sewn onto a leather vest. Sort of melded the funky skull with a tri-Scallion sort of pattern.
  6. Thanx guys. I have a new oakleaf one I am working on. The sizing is still tricky but this one was just right. My friend really liked it!
  7. Don't know what happened but here is the second piece?!?!?! Maybe too much for just one topic.
  8. I use some scrap for practice/test pieces. These were tests for some patterns I came up with.
  9. Damn Homes, You have a table to work on. You're stylin! Me on the other hand have a makeshift set up in my bedroom. I found out a long time ago that I could insert a 18"x!8" piece of old countertop between the top of the drawer in dresser bureau and the underside of my of the top. Works great! On the other hand I would die to get a good solid bench with an inset slab of Granite maybe 2'x6'. I would die to have Ann and Al Stohlmans old workshop from Canada. But then wouldn't we all. HA! Give the little guy time. He will be able to get the skulls down! Probably better than both of us. Storm
  10. Nice job Tae! I would have to guess that your friend really loved it. I am a firm believer in the idea that gifts you have made have more in them than the ones we buy. Let's see some more. Storm
  11. I finished this one for a friend of mine at the office. Her husband is on the look out for a large piece of granite for me.
  12. This one is an orignal pattern for the case and for the spray of oak leaves. She is lined with soft suede deer skin.
  13. These are more time consuming than the first one. Hope you like them.
  14. Great idea Tom. Lets take it a bit farther and put a snap closure but swap out the crown with a concho. Tandy has these cool kits that have screws and spacer/washers . You just screw the concho to the snap with the tailormade screw. Check out this site called www.conchos.com. Real great prices and nice stuff.
  15. Ah yes! Photoshop is but a marvel when applied to so many things.
  16. Art... Very nice collection. The notebook with the two tone lacing is great and the Sheridan is on the money.
  17. Here is another thought. If you are going to use wood then I might suggest sanding off the rough edges and giving it a nice coat of polyurethane to protect from moisture. If you were going to use it alot then I might suggest having it cut from plastic. Better yet maybe three pieces of 1/4 thick plastic. Then put two pieces in to thepocket to be formed and the gently tap and insert the third between the first and second. Sort of a gradual strech in that way. Good luck. Storm
  18. Really nice pair of chaps How did you sew on the applique?
  19. You are absolutely correct. Those Taps are buds. His eagle beaks are very distinctive. Storm
  20. Thanx Luke, What I found t be helpfull is to put it all together and then prior to finishing I soak the inside pocket with a damp sponge and the slowly take old plastic credit cards and insert the one bu one while flushing each successive card to one side or the other. I occasionally tap them into place with a nylon hammer. I then use a molding tool to to form a molded pocket and smooth it out. I just leave the cards in place until the leather is dry. You end up with a pocket that will hold more cards than if you don't. I did one recently for a friend who was a schizophrenic. Wanted two pockets for two different cards he carries. Storm
  21. Thanks Jacquee, Have to say thanks but wait till I get some of the otehrs on the site. Went to your site and was very imporessed. I make jewelry on occasion too but your braided horsehair is awesome. That along with some many other forms of cowboy art are slowly diminishing. Those of us who work with our hands have a deeper apprec ation for what it takes to create so many things. Hope that my hands don"tr succumb to arthritis. Even then I am reminded of the great impressionist painter Monet who suffered from a crippling and painfull version of arthritis. O e of his associates asked him why he still painted as just the act of holding the brush was so painful. He would continue for as lo g as the beauty was still coming out of his fingers. I have a theory though....if you don't use it you loose it... and along those lines I figure that the use of my fingers and hands and ever so occasionally my brain might stave off the potential of that sort of thing. Hope to be seeing more of your work on here soon. Thanx, Storm

    Mask on Mask

Nicely done! Beautiful piece of work. Spot on!
  24. Very nice work. Where's Leatheroo when we need a mask critique? HA!
  25. I will admit we have a strange rep but unless you frequent black leather gay bar and grills I think the collar might be optional. I tsrated making hair pipe indian chokers but even when using the sinew that bone choker I came apart after a week. Another bug to work out.
