  1. James, you make your Dad proud! Very nice work! Troy
  2. Here's a pic to give you a better idea... This one is a Barry King slicker.... retails for about $45... It helps smooth your leather before carving... Hope it helps... Troy
  3. No, It's cast aluminum... It's only about a year old ... hardly been used.... Thanks...
  4. Ok folks, HARD times have hit and I'm being forced to part with some things. I have a barely used Tippman BOSS with some accessories FOR SALE. What's Included: 1 - Tipmann BOSS Stitcher 1 - Material Guide 1 - Center Foot 5 - Bobbins 1 - Spool #270 Thread (Black) 1 - 10 pk #230 Needles 1 - Instructional DVD 1- Owner's Manual 1 - Thread Stand It's a Retail Value of about $1700, but I'm willing to part with everything for $1200 + shipping... If you think that's a little steep, make me an offer! The machine works great, but like I said, Hard times have hit. I can send pictures if you'd like. Thanks! Troy I
  5. Dave, It goes without question you are one of the most talented seat makers I know. The color combination on this seat is phenomenal! Great job!!
  6. Warhorse, That's a killer seat! I love the color combination and the realism of the skull is VERY impressive! One very small hint however, when lacing, the lace has a tendency to wander a bit. Now that the seat is finished, go around and tap the edge with a rubber mallet or something to help the laces "Settle". It will even out the laced seam and add that finishing touch to your project! Keep up the good work! Troy
  7. Sorry man, I had to let ya know... better us than your customer! Troy
  8. Here's a few pics to study... hope they help... Troy
  9. Rick, that's a great seat! I only see one thing wrong, you missed a lace stroke on the right side... I noticed it in the picture... I'd cut the lace and fix it, but that's just me! Troy
  10. Sometimes simple is best! Rick, that seat looks fantastic! Keep it up!
  11. Damn Dave! Those are spectacular! And it figures, after you told me about Jim, I received the notification in the mail the next day! All the prices are the same as far as I can tell... Troy
  12. Thanks Bobby! A compliment coming from you is a real notch in my belt! They were a LOT of work! Molding, re-molding, re-molding some more.... Not real hard to do, just time consuming. The bike shown belongs to a customer/friend. I sealed them with Atom Wax and told him he should bring them back to me about every 2/3 months so I can re-seal them. That was over a year ago and he hasn't brought them back yet... He's stopped by a few times and we just sit and gawk at it. I keep trying to re-seal them for him, but he likes the old, weather-beaten, distressed look. Which is the way he wants it... Well, he gets it! (quote from "Cool Hand Luke") Thanks James! I sprayed 3M-90 adhesive to a very small spot on one of the surfaces just to tack it into place, then I hand stitched it into it's final resting place. The stitching really tightened the leather into place. Then, the mounting bolts for the saddlebags assure the leather doesn't move, as well as the conchos on the outside panel hold it in place. The same goes for the lids, but I did use more adhesive with them. The hinges and latches ensure the lid panels don't go anywhere...
  13. WOW! That's GREAT! Very clean lines... No HALO'ing... Smooth bevels... You keep that kind of quality up and you'll be making book covers for everyone in your town!!
  14. I built my own workbench. I added a couple of doors to one section to make a cabinet. I have a wire shelf inside that I lay my leather on. It keeps it clean, away from potential DYE-sasters, out of the sun and out of the way... Troy
  15. That auction is proof that "Stoopid peepal shood not breed" !
  16. Several months ago I wrapped a set of Harley hard bags... Heres a few pics... However, if you're wanting to make your own designs and shapes, you may try Kydex for your panels then wrap them in your leather. You can heat mold your Kydex panels to the shape you are trying to achieve, then wrap them in leather with your own designs. Kydex is a Thermal Plastic that is rigid when cool, but add heat and it becomes VERY flexible and pliable. It can be molded into almost any shape with very little effort. Once the heat is removed, the Kydex hardens into the shape and becomes rigid again. People use it for gun holsters, knife sheaths and other things... Hope this helps...
  17. Absolutely outstanding David! And it figures about Jim! As soon as I find a reliable source for quality lace, POOF! Gone.... I sure hope the prices stay reasonable! Troy
  18. I am totally digging that seat! Simple, yet IN YOUR FACE !!! VERY Cool!! Troy
