  1. Nice job! Very clean lines! Keep up the good work!
  2. A RECALL involves an item that puts you at risk. Recalled toy because of CHOKING HAZARD. Recalled Ford because of possible FIRE HAZARD. That being said, YOU just earned a whole lot of respect in my book!

That's better than finding a treasure chest! A treasure chest will run dry after a while, that chest just keeps on giving! AWESOME FIND!
  4. Sounds to me like you may be a little frustrated at one of his machines and might be taking that frustration out on Bob. The man doesn't know you from Adam, you buy one of his machines (at a lower price from someone else) because YOU have researched it and want it. You tried adjusting a part in a way that the part was NOT intended to be adjusted and you BROKE it. Most people would charge you FULL PRICE to replace a part that YOU broke, however, Bob is merely explaining his position regarding the part. On top of that, he is going to REPLACE the part YOU broke for FREE! He's willing to GIVE you a part to fix a 5+ year old machine that YOU bought from SOMEONE ELSE that YOU BROKE, and you think HE is being unreasonable? If I were you, I'd be adding Bob Tippman to your Christmas Card list this year AND tell everyone you know how fairly and professionally Bob Tippman treated you when you had a MAJOR problem!!
  5. Maybe you're uploading them to the server, but then you have to ADD them to your post once they're uploaded... Kind of tricky the first time or two then it's easy...
  6. Pictures are worth 1000 words here on the forum... Post them and they will come.... I'm interested but would like to see pics....
  7. Your link didn't work, however, with a little bit of deductive reasoning, here's the fixed link... http://www.renasleather.com/glasswear.html
  8. You might also try a local Trophy Shop... they have small metal tabs that can be engraved then riveted in place!

That's impressive Tom! You have this SteamPunk thing down to a science!
  10. I like the way you think! Great Job!
  11. Looking fantastic so far! Can't wait to see it finished!
  12. VERY cool seat! Your buddy will be happy!
  13. I can see where that bag could be a pain in the, well, you know... BUT! It is awesome looking! Here's a thought, next time charge triple what you charged for it. If someone is willing to pay that much for a bag, at least it will be worth your time and effort! Very nice looking project!
  14. I always try to make sure I'm using the same pulling force to pull my lace, then when I'm all done, I go around the whole seat with a small rubber mallet and lightly tamp the laces into place. It helps 'SEAT' the lace and gives a nice even consistency all the way around....
  15. Leather left in the sun will have the same effect as YOU left in the sun. It will BURN! If you'd like to try an experiment, take two small scraps of veg tan and stack them on top of each other. Make sure the top piece is stacked in such a way that part of the bottom piece of leather is exposed. Leave them in the sun for 2 hours. When you come back, you'll notice the top piece of leather is slightly redder than before, but not much different.... right?? Now, look at the bottom piece of leather... You'll see the drastic difference in color that 2 hours in the sun will cause. That will give you the FULL understanding of how the sun effects your leather projects. The same thing will happen if you leave the leather sitting on a shelf in your shop or work area. If sunlight can get to it, it will change the color. And there's nothing worse than unrolling that beautiful expensive tooling hide and finding out it's now 4 different shades of SUNBURNT!
  16. Very nice seat! Colors are fantastic! Design is spot on! GREAT JOB!
  17. Nice to meet ya! Grab a cup of coffee... you're gonna be here a while!
  18. If Weaver is the only source you're satisfied with, PM me... I have an account with Weaver and would be willing to help a fellow leatherman out...
