I have some Horse Shoe brand buckles I bought from Weavers. They are nice buckles but the packaging says made in China. Dan

Give Boise Foundry a call. I know their saddle fittings are nice and priced well. They don't list any buckles other than cinch buckles but they do say they will make anything you want. Your idea of reasonable and their's may not coincide but that's life. http://www.boisefoundry.com Dan

Well, post your supplier list. I have American made leather of course, and some of the larger saddle fitings like horns, stirrups and rigging. D's, buckels etc.. would be nice to add to the mix. Dan

I paid taxes when I was in high school and that was over 40 years ago! I remember helping friends do the short form too. But that was just our after school part time jobs with a w-2. Doing taxes for a small business? I think H&R block gets a new customer for that. To our New leathercrafter, do approach this as a business. Take into account all of your expenses as well as all of your income. Write it all down and take it into the tax preparer. Use the same person your parents do. Dan

Unwaxed Linen Thread . . . Where Can I Find It?

This is where I buy mine. http://campbell-bosworth.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=linen Dan -
I just got an email from conchos.com and they do have the conchos. They come plain and you have to glue on your own crystals/rhinestones. Thank you pete and thank you Derek at conchos.com. Dan

I went through the whole conchos.com website. Didn't see any square conchos with crystals in anything other than 1 3/8. I do see some styles with the 3 sizes I need but they are either copper or silver with no crystal. Can you point me at something? Does the catalogue have items that are not on the website? BTW, I did send them an email asking them the same question last night. They do have a lot of really nice stuff. Thanks, Dan

I'm looking for some bling bling conchos. Here's a picture of a head stall with the style my customer would like me to use. She'll glue on most of the rhinestones but I need the square conchos with a center square crystal. I saw something on Springfield's site but they only list 1 3/8. I need 1 1/16, 1 3/8 and 2 1/2 Any suggestions? Thanks, Dan

Looks more like you are pulling the thread too tight. That's what is causing the leather to buckle. I'd also use a smaller thread for this application. Dan

azrider, You just pushed the wrong sequence on those buttons. I have never gotten mine stuck in Reverse, and I'm not going to follow these just to see if I can But here are the instructions I have, they came with a replacement motor I got from Cobra Steve and are in the original Chinglish I'll use V for the down arrow graphic and ^ for the up arrow graphic """ o THE NORMAL REVERSE TRANSITION SETUP FOR THE MOTOR Motor manufactured set is the reverse transition. If you need to reset: when the motor stops, press the V button for several seconds. when LED is "SET.0", press ^ button with 2 times; when LED is "SET.2", then press the V button again, LED is "roT.E" or "roT.P". If you want to change the transition, and you could press the ^ button for the switch of the transition. 5 seconds later the set pattern will be automatically saved; """ This is exactly what it says. Don't ask me what e.g. "button with 2 times" means Hopefully it will make more sense when you start punching buttons and watching the LEDs. Dan

I agree with dirtcold. See my post in the Holster forum. Dan

What Sewing Machine Do You Use?
dbusarow replied to Sixer's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Cobra Class 4. I could have gotten by with a class 3 but I am glad I spent the few extra bucks for the class 4. If all you do are holsters and belts the class 3 will probably work. But if you ever need to do a rifle scabbard or even a bible cover you will really appreaciate the extra throat depth. Imagine doing the piece over the scope below with only 9" of throat. Dan -
W&C will spilt the leather down to any weight you want. No extra charge. Dan

Pull-Thru Snaps

Yep, ankle holster and J frame just kind of go together in my mind. I think the Kahr will work even better though. Dan -
Pull-Thru Snaps
dbusarow replied to marine mp's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Mike, The line 24s will unsnap themselvss if your design causes pressure between the two layers that are snapped together. The back of the trigger guard (I'm assuming that that is where your snap would go) would be performing the same function as your thumb on a conventional thumb break. When you start your draw the trigger guard moves up into a V between the top and bottom layers and pops the snap. Dan
