I have another machine, a consew 206RB5? It says it takes a 17" needle, is it possible to get a needle for this machine that will take T207 thread? My artisan is broke for now....it doesn't say in the consew book what other thread/needles I can use thank you

glad you all are as stumped as I am.... yes, the bobbin thread is coming out and through the clip counter clockwise Cleaned the whole housing down there where the bobbin is..... ARGH!

Hi all - thank you Steve - thank you for all of your help...will have to talk to my husband and see if we can get it shipped out. Art - did check the shuttle, it is moving back and forth when the wheel moves, is stationary when wheel is not moving, so I don't think that is broke. I replaced the needle with one that came with the machine, I don't know the size, but since artisan sent them, it should be the correct one. I am pulling the wheel towards me, sometimes it will catch the first stitch, but then after that nothing DVD - I didn't get a DVD with my machine......and the tech never suggested it - so I guess I will call and get one of those and see if anything else on there helps It just seems to weird all I did was replace the bobbin when I wound new thread? ARGH!! Thanks all - will take another look at it ! Charlene

Hi all, I am in desperate need of help. i have an Artisan toro 3000, only has less than 10 hours of work on it. the other day I went to change the bobbin thread, wound a new bobbin, put it back in and now when I stitch, the machine doesn't catch the bobbin thread and bring it back up through the plate. I have called artisan, they don't have any idea - they sent me an extra spring that the bobbin casing is housed in to replace, did that with no success, other than that - he has no clue. They suggested that I re-thread the machine, we checked that, re- thread the bobbin, we did that; replace the needle, we did that; checked the timing (thanks Cobra Steve) did that to no avail....I have no clue what could be wrong just from changing out a bobbin? There isn't anyone close to me for help and no one close that I know of that can come for a "house call". Artisan has no other suggestions. This is basically a brand new machine, and now I can't use it. I sew fabric, so I know the basics of sewing machines, but am stumped on this one. does anyone have any ideas? thank you Charlene

Can you tell me what they call that stuff, since their website is under construction and I would like to at least sound like I know what I am asking for? thanks for the tip!

Hi All, I am not making boots, but do use them for crafts. I have been looking for (with no success) the material that some of the boot companies use to cover the inside seems in the boot. Some look to be about 1/2 wide cotton thin material? I have no idea where to find this stuff - I have noticed in the boots I have been working on that some of it is sometimes yellow, othertimes white. I don't know how it is attached to cover the seam, it isn't sewn - so i imagine glued? Anyone please tell me where to order this stuff -

Thank you, that was great! I am sorry I never got back to you about the craft aids. After accident, things were really hectic. Thanks again!

Hi all, I am wanting to make a journal cover / notebook cover for my journal. I have not done a lot of these kinds of projects before, but wanted to know what is the best recommended weight for the outer cover, as well as the inner cover flaps - and if those cover flaps should be two seperate pieces or a continuation of the cover? By cover flaps I mean the flaps as seen on the inside of the book when you open it that the cover and back cover slip into to hold the book cover on. Clear as mud? thanks all for your input! Charlene

Hello Louis, I have emailed you a few times and not heard back now. But, it has been well over 1.5 years since the saddle order and since I sent the saddle back. I sent you an email this morning and some pictures, but I REALLY want to resolve this and either get the saddle made or my money sent back. I don't have time to just keep money tied up or lost. I am very sorry for your personal problems and you promised me we could get this resolved. As of yet, I am still out the money I paid you and still have no sadddle. Please get back to me ASAP Charlene Stovin

Hi all, I found a document carrier at a thrist store and tore it apart to make a pattern off of, it is approximately 11 X14 or slightly smaller. I am not good at drawing my own sheridan style patterns yet, but wanted to know if anyone had one they would be interested in sharing? I just need something, floral or other, to cover the back of the carrier and then I can modify it for the front - ANYTHING would be apprecaited thanks for the help Charlene Stovin

Can you tell me what something like that typically costs? I need to get a larger one and a smaller one for strap goods, but have been waiting until I have money saved....

I also am left handed which is a challenge sometimes with tools - speaking of which, does anyone know a company that might make and sell left handed skivers? The ones for right handed people are backwards (dont' know why I felt the need to explain that, other left handers will completely understand!) but really need to find or make one thanks!

Thank you all for the information - I haven't had a chance to get back to Sheridan, I went three years ago (two shows not including this year) but it was amazing! Like you said, not only the show itself, but the BBQ at King's, the museum, the scenery between Billings MT and Sheridan, things to see....I had a blast, could have stayed there all week! But, since I wasn't able to go this year, was looking for some other possible things to do....maybe money just better saved for next year's Sheridan. thanks again - it really helps! Charlene
-
Hi All, I have never been to this show, and have only had the opportunity to go to Sheridan once. Is this show a lot like Sheridan, or if I go...what can I expect and what is it like? I would appreciate any information or experiences you want to share..... Charlene

Small Purse Round 1
equiss replied to MADMAX22's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
How did you put the sides in? I am looking for a way something very similair to this to do the sides so I don't have to lace the whole thing - I don't know if you can explain it very well, but any information you can give me on how you did this would be great! Good job! Charlene Stovin -
Hi Dink, I need to give you a call back or fax back to order my straps...I haven't forgot, I need to get that done - but I searched on Meridian Saddle Company, and I found a few listings for their saddles for sale, but nothing about the company. There was also a Meridian Saddle Shop in Meridian Idaho, but I know that is not what you are looking for - other than that, I couldn't find anything about them Charlene

3 Purses
equiss replied to andystevens's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Hi Andy - wow, those are great! Did you line the insides at all or put pockets in them? I was looking at the picture and how did you put the bottom in, it looks like there is a fold on the side near the bottom? Those are great! -
Hi Tom, That is beautiful and much like the miley string purse kit I got from Tandy, the gussets I mean...but do you think there is any way to sew gussets in and have a purse look ok (small purse)? I am trying to think of a way to put them together that has a little larger gusset and little larger purse, but that doesn't have to be laced. My lacing takes forever! Good work! Charlene

Hi all, I am trying to design, or find some designs of some fairly easy purses and/or other items that are somewhat easy to make, medium time investment, but I am having a booth at our week long summer quarter horse show, and all my proceeds will go to my trip to Oklahoma, but I need more items to put in my booth. I have a pattern for a stirrup purse, a version of Tandy's miley string purse (but can't get the gusset in correctly), so I am looking for items that girls would love, would go over at horse show type venues, etc. Does anyone have any ideas or patterns of other purses they could share? I am trying to think of other things other than purses and am just drawing a blank......ideas and any patterns appreciated !! Charlene

ok, good point, I like the "not vinyl" idea! Thanks for the reply! Charlene

Hi all, due to my learning curve on making purses and other craft items from old worn out boots, I need more. I can't afford to spend much, but I know many of us have those old worn out boots in the bottom of the closet, ones we don't wear anymore, ones we bought but don't fit right that are bound for goodwill, etc. I would happily pay shipping to anyone wishing to part with their worn out boots. Lacers or "chunks" really don't work well for my projects, but i have routinely checked the thrift stores, and most are too expensive for my budget. I know there has to be a ton of you with old boots that have no destination other than the landfill PLEASE let me have them! Would be forever grateful, I am trying to locate 15 pairs by the middle of this next month! thank you all! Charlene Stovin

Can someone tell me where you can buy vinyl piping that is used in boot making? I am not making boots, but need some of the same type of materials. I can't find anyone here in town that carries it, not even the shoe repair place, and I really don't want to make my own - faster and less expensive to buy it...IF I can find it....can you boot makers tell me where you find this stuff? thanks much! Charlene

Hello All, i have been looking everywhere for used boots (thrift stores, local ads, etc) but can't find any. I spread the word at the local riding club where I ride and still can't find any. If anyone has any old boots they are not wearing, worn out (bottoms), or just plain don't want anymore, I would LOVE to take them off your hands, and will pay for shipping. Unfortunately, lacers or "chunks" won't really work for my project, and the uppers need to still be in decent shape for my use. If you have boots, or know of anyone that does that wants to donate them, get rid of them, get them out of the closet, please give me a call or email me. Charlene Stovin 503-551-8298
