  1. Those are great! Looks like plenty of room to grow as well. He’s a cutie.

  3. This looks really great. One of these days I'll work up the courage to try something bigger like this.

This is really great. Fun seeing stuff like this that's so different from the standard fare.
  5. Very cool. Looking forward to seeing more as you complete it.
  6. Very cool! I like the decorative edges you used on the flaps. Do you have an intended purpose in mind for the box?
  7. Very cool design. Looks modern and clean, I love it!
  8. Hi all, just curious about the overall process - similar to the question above from tomsleather76. I just bought some fiebing's antiquing yesterday to try my hand at it for the first time. I dove right in and tried it on a couple of small tooled pieces and found that it looked good on the undyed one but didn't seem to do much on the dyed one (I may have just wiped too much off). Then I hopped on YouTube and here and saw people talking about applying a resist first. Is this only if you want to leave some areas lighter, or are you applying it over the whole piece? If over the whole piece (as I seem to be understanding), why? Thanks for the help!
  9. Thanks guys! That's a good call. I did that for folding the edges down, but not for the corner bends. I think I'll make a similar one for my snaps, so I get another chance for improvement. Next one I'll make the sides a little taller too. That's funny. It's in the water!!

Cool project! Would love to see more tools as you make them, thanks for posting.
  11. Thanks for sharing the pattern! It's a great looking little bag.
  12. Hi all, I've been lurking for a bit but haven't posted anything. Most of what I've done since picking up leatherworking last Fall has been journal covers, but this was something a little different. Got fed up with keeping my rivets in the cheap plastic packaging they came in, time to upgrade so I whipped this together last night with some scrap chrome-tan I had laying around. Top and bottom leather don't match but I made it for utility, not for looks. Thanks everyone for sharing your work! I love seeing it all.
  13. Hi all, I've been lurking here for a bit, enjoying seeing everyone's work and conversation. I played around with a little leatherwork as a kid and have been diving in again since last Fall. I've made a few journal covers, etc and I'm learning more every time I finish a project. Just finished a quick little riveted box to hold my rivets in, I'll post pics over in the show off thread. Cheers, Retswerb
