  1. I think you are talking about our PHOENIX CARDINALS! They say it will be qabout 80% Steeler fans to 20% Cardinal fans at the game. So you know what that means - Only 20% of them will be happy at the end of the game! And the terrible towel also doubles as a CRYING TOWEL. Casey
  2. Well you just described a nice normal summer day around here in Phoenix, Arizona. It's only hot after 110F, we start to complain like you after 122F though. But the best part "It's a dry heat". Casey
  3. Welcome ! Show pictures and ask questions and have a great time. Casey
  4. Michi & husband, Welcome to the group. With work like that you must have run off all the other saddle makers. Keep the pictures coming, very nice work. Casey
  5. Thanks everyone for the comments! I will slow down a little and do a better job next time. bustedlifter - I just used the two shortest bar grounders they make 3-seed and 5-seed. I have had to make one with one seed for smaller tighter patterns, this one had big background spaces. Tina - These miniature bronc belts will just be for decoration. I make a lot of miniature items such as saddles, chaps, gun rigs, spur straps... I will have the same guarantee on these as I do my chaps, "If they fit, you get your money back!" ( I crack me up) And the swivel knife is from Leather Wranglers with a 1/8" angled blade. Paul custom made it for me and I love it!!! Their website is: www.leatherwranglers.com DarkDreamsLeather - The fingers are just swivel knife cuts. Bruce & leatherrookie - So you are talking about the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame rodeo clown Wilber Plaugher. I remember him very well, I think he was one of the best. Did you know the dog and monkey HATED each other? Probably because the monkey would reach behind him and just RIP out hand fulls of hair off the dog. Once again Thanks for the replys, Casey
  6. Here's a couple of miniature Bronc Belts I just finished. They are 17 1/2" X 3 3/4". I learned to put two coats of resist on next time, and not to get in a hurry. The one I wanted a paint horse and the other one the whole figure had resist on it. I was not quick enough to get the dye off the one with all resist. I'm doing another one with a different tooling pattern. It is a miniature reproduction of an S.D. Meyers bronc belt. Casey
  7. That is awesome ! The end product was worth it. I do not mean to offend you, but I was laughing when you said it was 4" and you were wearing your magnifier all the time. I do a lot of miniature work and wish I had 4" to work with a lot of the time. You pulled it off in grand style. 40,000 cases....??? Casey
  8. Very nice and professional! Will it be in the magazine? I'm sure you will post pictures when done, right? Casey
  9. Welcome James! Don't feel bad, I need to be retrained after a week off! Casey
  10. Tina, WOW! When you stated: Leatherwork Specialty: Being "arty" and do things a bit different:-) You weren't kidding. Nice job, you have a new fan of your work! Casey
  11. Very nice and impressive! They made out like a bandit! Casey
  12. Russ, I have a couple maker stamps from Jeff and I'm very satisfied with them. Thinking of getting another one from him. I just had to give you a hard time. I think the makers mark is one of the most important stamps to have. So when you post the next project we can see your stamp-right? Casey
  13. You can run across these at oldwest antique and collectable shows. I don't know where you live so I don't know which on would be the closest to you. Casey
  14. Well, you want suggestions and I hate to but it is for your own good. You have a big problem, I went back and looked at all the pictures again to be sure. You should be ashamed of yourself for letting these go out like this! The big problem is that these have no makers mark on them. This is nice leatherwork and you should be proud enough to mark it. Your makers mark is very important, get it on there ! sidenote: I forgot once.... Casey
  15. I would love to see that. It would be a reminder to keep practicing. Casey
  16. I made a mistake in the original post with the website address. It is: www.roundupproductionsllc.com I'm sorry it was my mistake, no excuses. Casey
  17. Similular story- Don't remember all the details but here goes. True story A man could not catch any fish at the river near his summer home as he had in years past. He hired a marine biologist to do a study on the river to find out why there were no fish. After a week of study he asked the man if he had seen any skunks around. The man said the had a problem with them getting under the house, so he hired a trapper to come in and get rid of them. The biologist said that is why you don't have any fish. Without the skunks the turtle population is getting bigger and eating all the fish eggs and smaller fish. The skunks were eating the turtles and keeping their numbers down. Is the moral of the story "fishing stinks" ?? Casey
  18. Look at all those hand made tools ! Can you adopt me and put me in your will? Nice rack ! (Never thought I would say that to a guy) Casey
  19. Lisa, If they are tooled they can stretch during tooling. You can tape (Packing tape) the back to avoid this. Or even glue thin cardboard to the back to keep it from stretching. Hope this helps. Casey
  20. Horsehairbraider - I was never at the Trappings show in Flagstaff. I think it was more of a display and sell show and not a contest. If someone knows more about it, please correct me. justken - It would be in your best interest to be there, for a couple reasons. This contest is judged by the contestants. Each maker will get to vote for the top 4 places in their category. This year saddles makers will judge saddles & boots and vice-versa. Same for spur makers will judge spurs & bits and vice-versa. The "Peoples Chioce" will be judged by the general public coming to the show, they will get one vote in each category. And if you are there and someone sees your work and wants to talk to you about that peice or ordering something from you, you can visit with them about it. Thank both of you for your interest, if I receive enough interest in any category we will know which ones to add next time. Thanks, Casey
  21. Here's something you might be interested in if you make Saddles, spurs, Bits or Boots! I will attach a poster and rules. The applications can be downloaded from this website: www.roundupproductions.com We are already getting entries and it will be limited to the first 20 in each category, so don't wait! This is our first year for this but we plan on adding more categories next year. We are thinking maybe horsehair brading and or hitching, rawhide brading, hat making, engraving among other cowboy crafts. If you would be seriously interested in any of these please let me know so we get an idea of how much interest there is for a new category. The trophy buckles are being made by Silver King and I will post a picture of them as soon as they arrive within the next two weeks. If you have any questions just let me know. 22. Guns don't kill people - Husbands that come home early do!! Casey
  23. I'm a Transportation Engineer. (That's the fancy way to say truck driver) I drive four days a week and try to catch up on orders the rest of the time. Casey
  24. Let's do this the easy way. Just go to Pier One Imports and buy a directors chair. I think they have two different heights, this is the taller one. Use the cloth back that comes with it for a pattern. The chair folds up with no need to take it apart. Once you fold the chair for use, the leather back is what holds the arms up. Then just slip the back off and fold the chair up. Hope this helps. Casey
