I have known many crafts people that make flawless, stunning work, so I am assuming this is a deliberate flaw in your argument. Its not they "thought they were so good", most were or are stunningly modest. On this forum are many that would fit that description. The flaw part was comment on various belief structures, not crafts folk boasting. I feel it is bizarre that you then felt you had to lob in the weird link to starving kids. And loads of us read and marvel at the finished article. Great maul, following the excellent mallet to Thor's hammer. Linked to a gentle humour, I look out for your posts. Thanks Mjolnir.

I grew up "knowing" that all Islamic art would contain an imperfection; mother's knee "knowing". But I did search corroborative proof, as I quite like to think it would be true, and found very little to support it, particularly from Islamic Art sites. I love the concept of deliberate imperfection. If your finished piece is perfect, but for a deliberate mistake, isn't it still perfect? And that debate just goes round and round. If it was perfect but for your mistake, I think any God would be able to call you on your attempt to appease... At the Gates, "hey Harry, that wallet with the error in the pictish border; saw that one ... " H

My understanding is that Mjolnir has a 'personality' in Norse Mythology, and with Jörmungandr thrown into the mix, won't the Green Eyed God of Jealousy flare now you have 'The One Maul'?

I like pig for light leather goods, particularly waxed, like old saddle skirts. Will check out the site over the weekend, thanks. H -

I am away on busines atm, but may well be in touch on my return, I see you do goat, do you do pig? Are any of your leathers waxed or stuffed? I bet you get fed up with this but is there any link to Tustings? I am looking for some of their old sundance leather to upgrade my briefcase. Thanks Harry -

I used this for some of my bookbinding blades a while back Sandviik HSS Power Hacksaw Blade 700x50x2.5mm I ground the teeth, and the basic shapes then sharpened carefully I am using an old hacksaw blade, much smaller, that I made in 1987 to fit my clicker handle, when working in a factory, only ever strop it, haven't had to stone it or rouge it for years. It was one of the old guys there that showed me how. Best Harry

I have tried handled paring knives but cannot use them, I always go back to my english Geo Barnsley flat skiving knife, like the one at Abbey saddlery, http://abbeyengland.com/Store/CategoryID/202/Category2ID/130/List/1/catpagesize/0/Level/2/ProductID/77309 35 years old and going strong. Maybe I need to try a new fangled one. H

Good old English British Brown Sauce (HP or Daddies) is great on some pieces, but I have never found a US equivalent, even having been there often enough to get Global Entry. Brst H
