  1. I've noticed some people are posting pictures that are so big you have to scroll to see all of it. Isn't there a limit on size? Charlie
  2. I just received the Leather Crafters Journal for Sept/Oct with your design on the cover. Great cover. Your work has much been admired over the years. This is what makes this such a great forum. You meet people from all walks of life who share an enjoyable addiction. The photos that are posted give us inspiration. Even though I'm still considered a newbie, I welcome you to the best Leather Workers Forum on line. Charlie
  3. I also would like to see the pictures reloaded. Great info, but the old saying"a picture is worth a thousand words" applies. Thanks Charlie
  4. Well at 3:35am everything is back to normal. Even clicking from the home page to a forum. Speed is like it used to be. I'm glad the speed picked up, because I spend a lot of time reading old posts for info. Thanks Guys(Girls)!! Charlie
  5. After the home page loads if I click on a recent comment it takes around 1 minute for the page to load. Once the page is loaded if I back page it's a lot faster, but anything on the home page I click on takes a minute to load. On another tab I just tried going into a forum took 1 minute to get there. Once there everything is normal! When in the forum anything I click on changes at a normal speed. It seems to be related to the home page. Charlie
  6. Just signed in. New colors, running IE8 still really slow. Not complaining just posting after i've seen changes. Charlie

  8. I'm running with IE and the only issue i'm having is it's really slow. Charlie
  9. I'm glad the color changed from the 1st day. Thing's look nice, easy to move around, the learning curve isn't to steep. Charlie
  10. You can do a double layer belt to get the thickness your looking for. It might be cheaper than buying saddle skirting. Charlie
  11. How do you keep this short? In Nov 08 I started with seeing a guy at work selling flasks and knife sheaths. I thought it looked interesting, and I needed something to fill my time. I was tired of sitting at the computer 4-5 hours a day. We rent so there's no maintenance to do. My wife is disabled so were kind of homebound. Looked up Leather Tools on line and found the Tandy Leather Factory in Elgin. Bought some books and way to many tools thinking the more I bought the better I'd be. Wrong! After ruining some leather I stopped and started reading. Mostly Al Stohlman. What a difference once I learned how to use the tools I'd bought. Now most of my time is spent in the converted 2nd bedroom to the "playroom". My wife wanted to learn with me, so I built 2 workbenches, She has helped some by sewing on some projects. I still spend to much $ stocking the playroom, and practice by making leather birthday presents. Everyone gets leather now. This really is an addiction, but a very enjoyable one. There's so many things I want to try making. And I do have to thank all the people for sharing their knowledge and experience. There's a huge amount of information by reading the past posts, and the pictures of their work. At 55, I guess you can teach an old dog some new tricks. I wish I would have found out about leather working 30/40 years ago. Charlie
