  3. Hi Doug, we have them as well. If you need info on them, please call me at 1-866-962-9880. Thanks, Steve
  4. Hi Doug, just a follow up to what Bob said... you might need to oil and spray some penetrant into the mechanism. I have seen many machines that the stitch length mechanism is frozen and needs to be broken free. Try this as well as what Bob said. Thanks, Steve
  5. Hi ftknits, as Chris says, they were bought out by Texas Custom Dies. Their # is 888-755-9025. Thanks, Steve
  6. Hi Leatherwood, welcome to LW. Glad you are here. Steve
  7. Hawk, the biggest difference between the 562 and the 563 is (as has been mentioned), the size of the bobbin. The 563 is the large bobbin, and the 562 is the small bobbin. Thanks, Steve
  8. Hi alberta, there are a couple of ways, but the easiest way is to turn the material around and sew 2 or 3 stitches, then turn the material around again and sew over the stitches that you just sewed, then repeat at the end. Thanks, Steve
  9. Hi alberta, the best sizes of thread for the 29 class machines is # 46, #69, #92, and in some cases #138. These are the bonded nylon sizes, which in my opinion, is the best thread for sewing leather. Thanks, Steve
  10. Hi Claire, like Bob says ...it is worth $175.00 but you may want to consider a speed reducer to get the best results. Steve
  11. Hi Melissa, glad you are here. Great work, Steve
  12. Hi 1911Joe, glad you are here. Great picture of your Jeep! Hope it turned out alright. Steve
  13. Hi justken, I have sold hundreds of Cobra Class 4's in the past year, and nothing but praise. The Singer 97-10 is one of the best(if not the best) at what it is designed for, but in my opinion, the Cobra Class 4 is more versatile, and easy to use. Contact all of the dealers and listen to what they say, and make your decision. Hey Ryano, if you read this, please call me, I need to ask you a question regarding our last phone conversation. Thanks, Steve
  14. Hi Kris, if you are going to be sewing leather, then the DU-1181N would be the machine to use. The DDL-8700L is a single needle designed for the garment industry. You will be best served to use a servo motor and speed reducer when using the machine for leather. Thanks, Steve
  15. Hi jdwintx, your 211 will be sewing for the next 40 years. There are parts available forever. If you are sewing leather, then you want the 135X16 TRI system, #'s 18-24. The thread that I would use is a bonded nylon. The 211 will handle from 69-207 on top, but do not use a 207 in the bobbin, use a 138 in the bobbin when using a 207 on top. Nowadays, all thread for sewing machines is a left twist. Thanks, Steve
  16. Hey Bruce, it's either that, or I'm flat out crazy!! Steve
  17. Hi all! Just got back from Pendleton. WOW!!! What a great experience. Being a city boy, I just don't have many opportunities to see this great country, except when we do trade shows. For those of you who are like me, Pendleton is a cottage type town with a river walk, the Oregon trail, surrounded by hills, and many "mom and pop" stores. The weather was nice, the people were friendly, and the show was very successful. At last count there were 250 people that signed the guest book. I saw some old friends, met some new ones, and oh yeah, sold some machines!!! I would like to thank Ron and Cheryl at Ferdco for the opportunity, I really appreciate it. If you have the chance to go to Pendleton next year, you won't be disappointed. Thanks, Steve
  18. Hi Ginny, by looking at the 4 thumbnail pictures, the third one to be exact, I see the needle is not in the machine correctly. You should be able to thread the machine left to right. I also see the scarf(the cutout above the eye),it too should be facing to the right. Turn the needle 90 degrees to the right and see what happens. Thanks, Steve
  19. I'm 56, but feel and act like i'm 55.
  20. Hi Morgan, we use the best presser feet available. We buff, and smooth both feet so they will not mark the leather. We also buff the feed dog so it too will not mark the leather, while at the same time, not compromising the ability to feed belt leather. You can use # 69 thread and a size 18, and in some cases a size 16 needle. If anyone else has something to ad, please do so. Thanks, Steve
  21. Hi cowgirlrae, welcome. You'll find most evrything you need here. Thank you for joining. Steve
