  1. Hello, alot has changed since the post on Feb. 2008. I suggest that whoever is interested in a sewing machine, do your due diligence and get as much info as you can. There are many reputable companies that can answer your questions and give you the service that you deserve. Steve
  2. Thanks, everybody, and yaklady, you're now invited! Steve
  3. Hi everyone! Got some good news! I was invited to the trade show in Pendleton. If you are going, please stop by my booth, I would love to meet you, or see you again, whichever the case may be. I would like to thank Ron at Ferdco for this opportunity. He finally gave in after me bugging him for 2 months. Ha Ha Ha Steve
  4. Hi jnewburry, a roller foot machine, new or used is your best bet for boot tops. They are easier to learn on and less money, unless you can down right steal one. Steve
  5. Hey 525brwn, happy birthday. You probably feel much wiser today! lol Steve
  6. leatherrookie, thanks for the plug. C E W, there are a few sewing machine companies that offer what you need. I suggest that you call each one(including myself), and get all of the info that is offered. You will then be able to choose the right machine and company to do business with. Thanks, Steve
  7. Hi Shirley, I have seen one or two that were for sale for about the same price that Bruce mentioned. Thanks, Steve
  8. Hi thecapgunkid, there might be a burr on the foot, plate or hook that causes the thread to get caught once in a while. Check these parts and make sure that the needle clears without touching these parts. If you see a burr, use some emery paper, or emery cord and carefully sand the burr off. You might even try a buffing or fiber wheel to remove burrs. Thanks, Steve
  9. Hi Barra, I've got one for you... A lady called me and said that her machine would not pick up a stitch. After 30 minutes of "check this and check that" it turned out that she didn't have a needle in the machine. Steve
  10. Welcome druid, we are glad you found us. We will do whatever we can to help you. Thank you, Steve
  11. Right back atcha, good buddy!! Steve
  12. You mean to tell me that you are actually going to be doing some work! lol! Best of luck good buddy! Steve
  13. Marty, I agree with both of you. Either the Cub or the Boss will do the trick, I saw a post on LW for a used Boss that seemed like a pretty good deal and I also know a couple other people selling a used Boss. Thanks, Steve
  14. Serena, you should only need 1 machine for that thickness. Either a roller foot machine, or a walking foot machine should be just fine. The real question is the thread size. The roller foot machine uses a 46 or 69 thread, and the walking foot machine takes up to a 138 size. Thanks Steve
  15. Hi Bar C Leather, I have never heard of that brand, but myself and some others sell the 14 inch strap cutter. They do a great job, and come with 8 cutting blades along with multiple spacers. Thanks, Steve
  16. OLPHAART, Welcome to LW, we are glad you are here! G'Day mate! Steve
  17. Hello, the bobbin case is a Consew 206 RB bobbin case and Bob Kovar has it. Thanks, Steve
  18. Hello everyone! I am now back in the office after an 18 day road trip. I drove from Los Angeles to Indianapolis, and then to Wichita Falls for both of the Leather Shows. 4660 miles later, I'm home. Good to be back. Very successful shows. Saw a few old friends, and met some new one's as well. I would like to thank Art and Paul for their help, and thank all of the people from LW who came by to say hi. Thanks, Steve
  19. Hi Ridgley, welcome. The machine may be slightly out of time. You will probably need to talk to someone like myself, or Bob Kovar at Toledo Sewing Machine co. and we may be able to walk you through the process of re-timing your machine. It is to detailed to do it on a post. Thanks, Steve
  20. Mooshi, welcome! I do have a DVD that will be coming out hopefully in the next 30 days. It comes with each COBRA Class 3 or COBRA Class4. It will also be available on my website to view. Thanks, Steve
  21. Dave you should use a brass punch and a small hammer, and tap lightly. Steve
  22. Daggrim, I have seen them for 250-750. Steve
