  1. I personally would charge 35 a month and the renter would pay me for the fertilizer and seed and any fence maintanance that was needed. and if they baulk at all of that then it would go to 75 a month per horse. You do the math and figure wich one is cheaper in the long run. if they are there all spring and summer then the first would be cheaper but if they are only there a month or two then the latter would work out better for them. P.S. that is if they supply the hoses and water troughs Just my opinion and I am not a horse boarder nor do I personally rent any pasture
  2. I am by no means the expert here, but it sounds to me like you are either too wet or a way too dull of knife. you want your leather to feel cool but be roughly the same color as if it were dry. and you want your swivel knife as sharp as you can get it. I know that the experts will get on here and tell you exactly what is wrong but these are my opinions and what it sounds like to me. Good luck. Tim
  3. I like just backgrounds dyed medium brown. What do you all use to dilute fiebings prodye?
  4. I have read in a few different places of people using extra virgin olive oil. What is the purpose of this? is there an advantage over neatsfoot? I am to chicken sh!T to try it as I am affraid I will ruin something. if anyone can explain the difference I would see i would sure like some explanations. Thanks Tim
  5. I was just curious if you got any screaming deals on anything.

  12. shoot it looks good to me. The only thing is maybe rotate your viener toward the point of the leaf a little more and lift the petals, and this is by no means the Way to do it just a few things that I see. What finish are you putting on them?
  13. what are the prices of the cylinder bed machines?
  14. I have decided to change my vote and side with luke here, after Markb showed me the other site mentioned I checked it out and he is right there is plenty of sarcasm and hate on that site, Dont get me wrong I will be checking it often just to have agood laugh but it is not needed here.
  15. Hey thanks I didnt know about that one. I will have to check it out.
  16. in my opinion though if I want to hear another cowboys opinion on something I personally wouldnt know where to go other than here. And I am not trying to "attack" you in any way I need to make that clear.
  17. I say why the heck not. It will let people breath a little when they get all worked up. We all need to vent and some of us spen alot of time here and respect alot of the people here and their opinions so I think that this would be a good spot for it.
  18. I have not tried the angelus dyes but I hear a fes of you talking about them how do they compare to fiebings? are they easier to get ever when applying with a brush such as a background on a sheridan project?
  19. with the airbrush can you get into tight places? Some of the background is open but some is tight between the flowers and the stems and leaves. I dont know I jsut need to practice more or just use black on everything I geuss
  20. I was trying to dye a fairly descent size backgound in a medium brown and am having a real issue with how uneven it is. It is a backgruond for a sheridan carved pattern on a purse in some areas the dye is a nice light color and other areas it is almost black. I am hoping it will even out over night but I would like to hear suggestions on how to make it more even in the future.
  21. I agree but sometimes I have to use my Whiskey glass If I am trying to make something perfectly symetrical I will draw out half of my pattern on graph paper and then cut that half and fold it over down the center and trace out, This might not be perfect so try to match the lines up on the graph paper on the other side. and then cut and transfer to my pattern paper. It usually works LOL
  22. Hey everyone I have a silly question, What is the best Blade used for carving letters ( in your experience)? I mainly just use a 3/8 hollow ground blade for the vast majority of my carving. I have not done alot of carving of letters but I am finding that they look so much better than the stamped letters. So any suggestions will be listened to with perked up ears. Thanks to all of you experts out there
