  1. but I made this coaster for my Doc who did a total hip on me back in Feb. Wrote a little note on the back " Thanks for the new parts Doc " It may well end up in the box with all the other junk he probably gets from patients .
  2. OUTSTANDING !!!!! If you wouldn't mind I may borrow that idea .
  3. made me think if any of you have readers you know , book marks are also something I make from scrap .
  4. I too do the hair barrette thing and use strap leftovers for bracelets and hatbands .
  5. That is nice indeed , I can't get brave enough to try any painting . I will sometimes highlight something small with a darker dye .
  6. Hockey tape might be just what you are looking for . Just wrap until you like the size .
  7. Very nice ! Is the stitching at the bottom for a toe plug ?
  8. won't let me upload couple more pics
  9. First let's be clear .... I am awful with photos and even worse at explaining anything . With that said here goes . lay out pattern , punch stitching holes , tool and dye , because I have not been happy with my attempts at the box stitch ..... I cheat!! I use a ledger ( what I call it ) strip and it allows a simple saddle stitch and stitch it inside the wall of the box while it is flat . Pull ends together and do a crossover stitch from top to bottom ,makes basic box walls , cut bottom piece and push inside to rest on ledger strip . I make it a tight fit and you would have to try to push it past the ledger so I don't worry that it will ever push past the ledger ( if you were worried you could glue it in ). Cut top 1 inch larger than top of box , tool, dye and wet form on a piece of 4 " PVC pipe . Notice the large zip tie is backwards to prevent leaving teeth marks on the leather , let dry , slick edges and call it good . I bet that is CLEAR AS MUD
  10. I use the injector blades in mine but I would caution , they protrude from my block some and it is not the safest thing I have ever done
  11. Friend of the first lady I built a butterfly box for decided that she wanted one . Thanks for looking
  12. I like that !!!! Nicely done Sir
  13. I'm pretty new so take this with a grain of salt . To me it looks like some contamination ( wax , something maybe on your work surface ) of some sort .
  14. Thank you Sir .I wasn't sure how the butterfly would turn out but I was happy with it , hope the lady will be happy .
  15. Couple of boxes for a lady . Thanks for looking
  16. I know this is an old thread and I am late for the party but here is my fly swatter Walnut handle , 8/9 oz leather cut basket weave ( it looks a little more like basket weave in person ) and is heavy enough to swat horseflies or hornets
  17. Thanks guys . K5HEP , like I said had I saw yours first ....... I am not ashamed to copy a good idea or design and I hope you don't mind . I still like mine to be attached to the shoulder rig but your carrier is better !! Thanks
  18. K5HEP , we indeed are of one mind and had I saw your solution first , I would have copied it . I am a suspender man ( no belt ) but can see where your carrier would fit nicely on them . and GETTING OLD A'INT FOR SISSYS thanks
  19. I have toted a revolver for a long time ... old school I guess . Made a shoulder holster a year or so ago and while it's part of me when I leave the house , I forget the speed strip almost every time. So today I decided to fix that . Not fancy but it should work .
