  1. I love knots and I should have said " undressed " I'm going to borrow your " no funeral " somewhere down the road I guess while I'm righting things I owe Mulesaw in sailors speak ............ reef knot
  2. I just can't leave well enough alone but this time I think this helped at least it did no harm LOL !! I am having a hard time with photos ,,,,, looks like 2 different sheaths I
  3. Advice taken ------ no wet forming , a knot that can be recognized ( maybe ) , tried to straighten my edges . Thanks guys ! I sat here and tried to copy my own knot tied in paracord , that is why there are no strands . I was going to strand it but decided I had messed up enough on this little project already Still got a fat place in one cord but because it is just for me , I'm gonna live with it . I would have to redo it yet again if it were for someone . @chuck123wapati Yes you do need one !
  4. @Mulesaw I took this from an image I found on the web . Did not cross my mine what knot it was . Sitting here recreating it , it is a malformed square knot so I will work from my own knot and I think I can work this out . Tomorrow ......LOL !!
  5. It is a quality tool , well made and all about function !!! You are exactly right about the knot while beginning to lay out the tooling window for a redo I noticed that I had not beveled far enough where you are talking about . Also I think I have the tag end in wrong place , I believe it should be under the bend . I will try and correct all of it on the redo ! Thank you
  6. Got ya , thanks .
  7. @Dwight Thank you for being kind . I guess doing a little tooling on some box tops that I make and wet forming those , I thought I could just do that anywhere . The difference being just having to form 5/8 " on the outside of the radius .... and the tooling area staying flat . I will take some advice and just tool the redo . Thank you !
  8. I got this Myerchin about 2 years back , came with nice nylon sheath but it is still nylon . Anyway I thought today I would make something leather for it . Missed with locating the tooling where I wanted it and lost some definition in the tooling when I wet formed . I will probably end up trying this again .
  9. That looks good even if I am not a football fan . What is the trapper ?, I can't make it out .
  10. See if helps .................... ain't the interweb just great

    Years go by Fast

Quite a nice way to start down the path !!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Thanks , it has grown on me but like I say it is not the best use of material . I guess a person could make something similar but with symmetrical curves for the pattern so as to flip and not waste much .

Like I said I think it is nice but more important the reason you did it ! I will suspect that you may be a tad stressed about your friend , so let this just slide off your back . I'd like to see some more so post away !

  21. @fredk Thanks and glad you liked it . @chuck123wapati Thanks and glad you liked it , I just figured to challenge myself in finding " a kid who knows " in todays world
  22. and it is nothing special except I did this one a good while back ( one of my first ) . My daughter had a local maker do a knife for me and because I had told her I was about to start messing with some leather , she didn't require a sheath with it . I look at it with some pride but mostly sadness as the knife maker who had been a lifelong friend has since left this world . He did great blacksmithing work and would help anybody any time !!! I sure do miss that ole boy . any way I have improved a little since this one , not much maybe but some
  23. @Stewart Thank you very much !!!!! I have to admit that is like Chinese arithmetic to me . I am computer ignorant except for the very basics . But I want to Thank you again !!
  24. this is just in case what I do next is a mistake and here it it finished Now to find a kid that even knows who this is to give it to
