  1. @SusanC Looks like you have your info . Maybe I can help with the picture thing . If you have Windows paint , just open it and hit " file " in the upper left hand corner , find your picture and open it . You will see crop-- resize-- rotate just to the right of where you found file , hit rotate and choose which way you want to go Hope this helps .
  2. @chuck123wapati Thank you very much ! @sparctek Thank you !! Yes i am learning and guidance is always welcome . I try and keep that in mind but I think I get caught up in where and how many decorative cuts and just totally forget about fading . Maybe time , confidence , and practice will get me to the point where I remember to fade out . Thank you for the tip , one of the many things I like about this group !!!!
  3. As always NICELY done , I agree the second attempt looks better on the first design . and I may have to borrow ( steal ) that background on the other one
  4. @battlemunky While he does seem just a little odd , I believe he knows his stuff It never crossed my mind to do it that way , 1cc to 5,6 ,or however many cc's of alcohol is how I was thinking of it . Thanks !!! Looks like I may need to invest in a book or two .
  5. I think I told you I was going to try and steal this idea ........ well I tried and guess what , I can't carve that small . I still love the idea though and " the permit "
  6. Nice ! Those edges look like one solid piece . Is that between the weave and camo what is called a " meandering stamp ?
  7. Could you post a picture of just a couple of cuts in some scrap and don't bevel them , just cuts ? maybe a picture of your swivel knife blade ?
  8. Thank you ! I think I diluted 7 to 1 , I really need to start writing stuff down so maybe I can repeat it if ever needed . Yes Sir and I want to say Thanks again !!!! I have a ways to go to be good with it but it has already made a difference that I can see .
  9. but I did this for a local florist . Getting that pink out of a bottle of burgundy took a minute or 3
  10. One of the coolest things I have seen done in leather ! Kind of reminds me of " The Purple People Eater " from my childhood . OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!
  11. Well WELCOME from a hand sewer , what little I sew . You have come to the right place .... these folks seem to know their machines !!!
  12. Thank you Sir !!!!! I am learning and having a blast doing it
  13. Did you wet mold this ? The reason I ask is that just recently I tooled a knife sheath and then wet formed too ........ lost a lot of definition . I have since been advised to do one or the other and it worked much better .
  14. Outside of the box on the sheath !! I tried 1 leather washer knife handle in my 20 's and went straight to scales or hidden tang in any thing but leather ...... hadn't ever had the desire to do it again .
  15. Thank you , I have been searching today and can't find any bad info on using them . In fact it seems a few here use them on a limited basis . Moon is 2 different size ball bearings and some ball end stylist for craters
  16. I don't own any black dye so I used a black sharpie but now I am wondering if it will react badly with veg-tan leather .
  17. Look at this ,most if not all are used in this photo of what is called Sheridan style .
  18. Nice indeed !! I like the simple look and have never worked up the nerve to try the vinagroon , may have to give it a try .
  19. Thank you !!!! You may be correct but there is quite a lot of " free wallpaper " and such on line , probably just for personal use ( ie not for profit ) . I watched some of the shows back in the day but just wasn't for me ........ now if ole Foghorn Leghorn had popped out of that window ..... weeeeellllll
  20. I don't have a golf ball but most are 1.68 I think so that is what I set the caliper to . Most of these are what I got in a beginners set so I really don't know if " figure " tools are a different size .
  21. @Handstitched Thank you and that is "genius " !!
  22. Small job from daughter showing a friend some of the cartoon coasters . Seems her husband is a big fan of anything " Super Hero " ....... I would watch cartoon 24/7 when I was a kid and will admit to still watching on occasion but I never got into the " Super Hero " thing .
  23. Thank you and it amazed me , I tooled this as I always do with the checkered beveller and then matted . Really gives the illusion of lift
