  1. Thanks , the only reason I'm doing it " traditional " is I just ain't figured out the other ways yet Thanks and I will look at some matting tools . Suggestions would be welcome .
  2. I never had that problem because this is how mine is made . (SLC )
  3. @Wild Bill46 Thank you ! Sorry I took so long to say it , I guess I lost track somewhere
  4. Looks good ! I really like the blood knot on the concho
  5. Best I remember I used the edge of a file and cut about 3 light v notches in mine . Like tsunkasapa said it doesn't take much .

Very NICE !! You have an eye for color
  7. Thanks Chuck ! Doc I just hadn't thought of that but it is a great idea ! So here goes : no name ( cheap ) swivel knife with 3/8 " straight blade craftool B995 narrow smooth beveler no name Z-B701 checkered beveler
  8. and the flankiest piece I have ever tried to carve , I think I kind of like the look . Wish I hadn't stained it though
  9. I got a couple of shoulders and some and a belly in so a little more scrap to practice on .
  10. I use olive oil but whatever oil is used , start with a light even coat
  11. Well I will upload the third one when allowed . shoulder holster # 3.pdf
  12. I don't know if this would help anyone but I altered the Al Stohlman rig from " How to make holsters " . This is very comfortable to me . I have tried to create a PDF file and could not figure out how to get everything together so bear with me . All connections are Chicago Screws except short strap is sewn to ring which allows every thing to pivot to fit me exactly , but it can certainly be connected by whatever means works for you .
  13. I think someone mentioned " consignment shops and K C should have some . Just know the local ones here want a percentage of the sale and if your stuff don't sell and you pull it , they still want a small fee . Word of mouth , which is slower is what I get work from . Good luck to you !

    New holster.

Nice work for sure !! Bert the Wrangler and Single Six are single actions so unless you back the hammer before you draw there ain't much way of an un-intentional discharge . Now I don't put it past someone somewhere to do just that but that person needs to " put the revolver down and step away "
  15. Ah ,, I just didn't enlarge big enough .Tooling on cartridge holder is what I was looking at and it's still nice !
  16. Looks pretty good for a first I like to light oil anything I do before dyeing , may just be in my head but I think it helps even out the way the leather accepts it .
  17. Looks fine. I think the feathers are a nice touch and the tooling looks great ! I can't tell what is on the conchos ?
  18. Just wish I could do as good ! Nicely done

Very NICE !!!! maybe a little lighter color for the belly ?
  20. My bs meter just pegged out !!!!
  21. Check out Sam Andrews on youtube . Andrews leather I think . You will think he is nuts the first time you see him cutting , at least I did . Now that is the only way I cut but I use something like an exacto knife with # 11 blade .......... works real well for me !! 9/10 oz is the thickest I cut though
  22. My EDC is a shoulder holster that I use with whatever I carry ( revolver 98% of the time ) semi auto on rare occasions . Then there are a very few times I need to go somewhere I can't carry so this is my work around ... better than strong language
  23. I like the diamond shape better but as you say " personal preference " . For what I am wanting 3/8 (10mm ) is plenty big enough . I see your reasoning but I may have enough quilting coming to justify getting a stamp .
