  1. Thank you ! I think I diluted 7 to 1 , I really need to start writing stuff down so maybe I can repeat it if ever needed . Yes Sir and I want to say Thanks again !!!! I have a ways to go to be good with it but it has already made a difference that I can see .
  2. Nicely done !!! Big holster for a Big gun
  3. but I did this for a local florist . Getting that pink out of a bottle of burgundy took a minute or 3
  4. One of the coolest things I have seen done in leather ! Kind of reminds me of " The Purple People Eater " from my childhood . OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!
  5. Well WELCOME from a hand sewer , what little I sew . You have come to the right place .... these folks seem to know their machines !!!
  6. Thank you Sir !!!!! I am learning and having a blast doing it
  7. Did you wet mold this ? The reason I ask is that just recently I tooled a knife sheath and then wet formed too ........ lost a lot of definition . I have since been advised to do one or the other and it worked much better .
  8. Outside of the box on the sheath !! I tried 1 leather washer knife handle in my 20 's and went straight to scales or hidden tang in any thing but leather ...... hadn't ever had the desire to do it again .
  9. Thank you , I have been searching today and can't find any bad info on using them . In fact it seems a few here use them on a limited basis . Moon is 2 different size ball bearings and some ball end stylist for craters
  10. I don't own any black dye so I used a black sharpie but now I am wondering if it will react badly with veg-tan leather .
  11. Look at this ,most if not all are used in this photo of what is called Sheridan style .

    New wallet

Nice indeed !! I like the simple look and have never worked up the nerve to try the vinagroon , may have to give it a try .
  13. Thank you !!!! You may be correct but there is quite a lot of " free wallpaper " and such on line , probably just for personal use ( ie not for profit ) . I watched some of the shows back in the day but just wasn't for me ........ now if ole Foghorn Leghorn had popped out of that window ..... weeeeellllll
  14. I don't have a golf ball but most are 1.68 I think so that is what I set the caliper to . Most of these are what I got in a beginners set so I really don't know if " figure " tools are a different size .
  15. @Handstitched Thank you and that is "genius " !!
  16. Small job from daughter showing a friend some of the cartoon coasters . Seems her husband is a big fan of anything " Super Hero " ....... I would watch cartoon 24/7 when I was a kid and will admit to still watching on occasion but I never got into the " Super Hero " thing .
  17. Thank you and it amazed me , I tooled this as I always do with the checkered beveller and then matted . Really gives the illusion of lift
  18. VERY VERY NICE !!!!! ? is that a seeder used for the border on the basket weave ?
  19. @tsunkasapa I am going to like this matting tool , Thank you Sir !!!! It's surprising how it lifts the image . This is the very first practice with it so a little time to get the hang of it and it will " up my game " as they say
  20. @PastorBob Many Thanks Sir !! ( 2 coats of oil , Fiebing's saddle tan , and Fiebing's medium brown yielded the colors ) @sbrownn Exactly what I was conveying . Thank you !
  21. Thank you for the kind words Chuck !!!!!! Well it is coaster size but if ya don't think me a mental patient pm me an address and I mail it to you and Thank you !!!!
  22. While I think figure carving in general is all about the details and I admire and even envy the talent of many , I will never reach that level . Think of this as " a cave painting on leather "
  23. If I can get leather cheap enough .... I'll eat yard-bird and more pig
  24. @JWheeler331 Thanks @doubleh I can see that , if we had very much wind here I might have to consider a cap myself . @chuck123wapati Thanks , the feather has been there a while and gotten a couple of comments ..... just from " normal folks " @JayEhl Looks like I am in good company with Fred
  25. While this is a kitchen knife it might could be modified to serve your use . The steel in this one will sharpen up nicely and holds an edge in " kitchen " use , I don't have a clue how well it would fair in leather . It is kind of round and bevel on one side other side flat ...... just a thought . Good luck on finding what you need .
