  1. Thanks. Yeah some say the cobra class 26 is a hybrid of a 341 type machine. Yeah I guess my biggest thing that has stopped me from making bags. Is I mainly got veg-tan & most of my bag patterns are for flip/inside out type bags. Meaning they are sewn inside out & then flipped. I need to invest in some chrome tanned type bag leathers.
  2. Cobra class 26 is quite the machine too. I would consider it as a good option. I have not got into bag making yet. But I do have a bunch of bag templates. I do love my Cobra class 26 for all the wallets & belts & straps I do make. Also i think a cylinder arm machine is more versatile. If you do get a cylinder arm machine, I recommend you get the flatbed attachment.
  3. Thanks. I really like looks of the Spanish brown dye. That's reason I was asking.
  4. Looks nice! Great work. Did you dye it? Or is that just the tan-kote giving it that color? Thanks.
  5. @AaronStand what will you actually be sewing with such of a beast of machine. I think I read somewhere that machine has something like a 1-5/16" foot lift. I am just curious where that machine would be best used at sewing what type projects. Thanks.
  6. Thanks. Much appreciated. I did not think anyone would even mention my edges. Especially since there was not separate pics showing them. I will say 1 thing the Conceria Walpier Dollaro & Buttero leather sure edge slicks up nice.
  7. I guess I don't fully understand the question. Are you just trying to get both sides even for a stitch line? Or are you trying to get 2 seperate pieces to be joined together lined up to sew? Or are you just trying to sand the project edges to make them even, all the way around the perimeter of your project? Thanks.
  8. I think this is the machine they are referring to. So is this machine a copy/knock off of a Singer or the Consew/Seiko model.
  9. I was going to do that. But since I am new to machine sewing I did not. I was afraid I would mess up the stitching when sewing around the corners. I might be able to still knock off the corners thou after sewn. Thanks.
  10. Yep what he said. When they come up for sale used. They usually sell quick. It is a great machine, I love mine.
  11. Thanks everyone. Much appreciated. Yes this is my spin of the Roper wallet. The actual design/ pattern of this wallet used card slots with the Tyvek material for the card pockets. I guess you could say I 1 upped it with the T-pockets. Thanks again.
  12. Guys & gals I made this long wallet or at least i think that's what it is called. Conceria Walpier Dollaro in the color whiskey. 5oz main body 5oz cash slot 2oz card pockets What do you guys think of it? Stupid design? What would you change? Let me have it! Lmao or I think. Thanks.
  13. Yep my cobra class 4 intimidated me for about a year before I finally jumped in head 1st & started using it. Lmao I am glad I had about 8 years of scrap saved back for practicing. Lol
  14. Yep nice work! I saddle stitched something like 4 belts & told myself I am getting a sewing machine or, my hand sewn belts need to go up in price.
  15. I know what will take the cosmoline out, but it is going to take the leather dye & everything else that's been applied to it, finish wise.
  16. Nice work. It looks great with the gunslinger stitch work. I bow down to you, if you hand stitched that fine specimen of a belt.
  17. Got me stumped! Unless somewhere in the world cosmoline is also another name for glue. The cosmoline I know of is a grease. Like my old WW1 WW2 weapons, were packed in cosmoline to preserve them when crated.
  18. Yeah I have not bought any yet either. It is high priced.
  19. Nice work. Looks good. I use Weldwood contact adhesive. & usually anything I glue leather wise, takes 2 coats on each piece.
  20. Nice work. They look great!
  21. You can buy YKK zipper by the foot or meter from SailRite I believe they keep most finishes too. Plus they got zipper stops & all the related zipper hardware.
  22. To the right person they could fetch some big bucks. Especially if they are operational.
  23. Rocky Mountain leather has your horse rump leather!
  24. Don't take anything apart!
