  1. Patrick1 what dimensions is your table top you designed & fabricated? 12" wide x14" long. Am I anywhere close. Pencil me down for 1 when they are available. Thanks.
  2. Nice work! Lil more sanding & polishing & it will be like Barrys.
  3. Nice work! I would say you are on your way. To being a Professional.
  4. Nice work! When are you going to put them in production. I would like to purchase 1. Looks great!
  5. Cool cool. How is the Capital of Country Music treating you. Never been to Norton, I'll have to check it out. I got a pic of a knife I got from Maker's Leather that I enjoy using. It is a small knife, but is a Mighty cutter! Cost about $55 Made of D2 Steel. & it holds its edge great.
  6. Ok thanks. So does your Barry King blade measure 6.2mm or something like 6mm? I take the Barry King blade is bigger diameter than a standard swivel knife. Your only option might be a Barry King swivel knife, Or modify your blade or modify your current swivel knife. You could also enlarge the bore in your swivel knife if you got the proper drill bit & a drill.
  7. Thanks let us know how the order from Stryi goes. I got a couple I would buy. Yeah I want a couple Chartermade knives, pretty bad too. They are nice.
  8. Put swivel knife blade in a drill press & turn it on & use sand paper on the shank to reduce the size of the shank. That is a quick & efficient way to reduce shank size.
  9. What brand of swivel knife are you trying to install a Barry King swivel knife blade? I got 4 swivel knives, I could measure them. But I think they are 7/32" or 5.5mm They do make swivel knives with smaller shank sizes, but I usually stray away from them.
  10. I know there is some thread companies that list & sale left hand twist sewing thread. Heck maybe it is all left hand twist.
  11. I think this is golden shearling. That Cattleman & Mablung is referring to.
  12. What does that thing have for a throat depth? Like 36". Jeeze would have to hire another guy to run the controls they are soo far over. Wonder if that machine was made for tents & awing coverings.
  13. Lined winter hat. Or possibly gloves/mittens. Scarf. Ear muffs.
  14. I see it is set up for edge binding at the moment. Looks like a nice Ole machine. Depending on what you are wanting to do with it. You could add a speed reducer & brushless servo motor. Nice machine! & free makes it even better.
  15. Only thing that would be hard to source is a v-belt pulley with a square drive. That is if a did decide to try & motorized it.
  16. I have always wanted to order something from them to try out, like the half head knife they sell. But I was always worried my item would get stuck in customs.
  17. I have thought about doing that. A speed reducer & a 750watt brushless servo motor. My only real gripe is, I think they should have included more material fingers that holds & separates the leather from the rollers/cutters.
  18. Ok guys & gals, I finally got around to testing the TandyPro manual rotary strap cutter. It is definitely a keeper. This cutter is nice. If you set it up, according to the manual. Here is some 10-12oz Hermann oak latigo. Cut it like butter. Awesome!!! Decided to really test the machine out. This is 14-16oz Hermann oak saddle skirting. Cut it like butter! Awesome machine for the money.
  19. Look up Hennigan Engineering & Precision, I believe that is the website.
  20. I think that would make a mess of your leather. But I am not 100%sure on this. I would put a sanding drum on 1 side of the buffer & a cocobolo burnishing wheel on the other side. Or the old fashion way with waxed canvas, a touch of water & some saddle soap & elbow grease.
  21. Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. Lol I got a fringe knife, now I gotta cut fringes. No I'm not sure what I will use this knife for yet. It looks like it will be handy in spots. I thought I would try this knife before buying a half mod 2 Damascus. Everybody that does own his knives, say they are a treat to cut with.
  22. Thanks bruce. I am hoping to make some shows next year to meet all the great people in the leather community. Idk if that picture of the knife is the exact knife I'm receiving or if the knives are built to order.
  23. I use both a drum sander & a belt sander if things got crazy with construction.
  24. Thanks. Much appreciated. I make knives on & off for sale, but sometimes it's nice to get somebody else's custom knife. I would have more if funds would allow it. Can never have enough knives.
  25. Guys & gals today is my birthday, & I am another year younger. I put a whisper in a few ears, about what would be a really nice birthday gift. Well my sister hooked me up. With a Shaun Woodsum Damascus fringe knife. It looks like a sweet cutter. Can't wait to get it & try it out. Now I need his Luna knife & the half mod 2 knife.
