Flawless according to my eyes and as Tom said gorgeous. My daugther said, Dad make me one like that for my wedding album, and I said well It all depends, in how many years are planning to get married. Because, I think I might need a few, to practice. I would like to know how he manages to keep the dye inside those thin lines. I bet he never went over the lines in his coloring book as a kid. Congrats on this one exremely nice.

Very pleasing to the eye. I have yet to do much lacing, but want to learn, what would be the best book. I am more of a visual guy, the long written technical explanations are not for me. Unlike what some other peoples say, I do look more at the pictures than read the articles.

Yea! really nice....the dye job gives the leather, that already worn-in look. Not only great looking, but comfy looking. If you don't mind me asking, what is the dying process.

You 100 percent about the plating Bree. I worked at a plating shop, and companies wood resend there product cause of the lost of crispness in the details. It's overplating, if the undercoating is too thick (copper & nickel) then you lose most details. Companies have it done to compensate for the poor casting of parts... to fill nooks and cranies and make the tool or whatever part look much better, more "attractive" once chromed.

Well I don't have the spilling of the water thing anymore. Cause, seeing that I reside with 3 females, it was always very hard to access the place they called the "Powder Room". Wich, by the way, made me not want to go in there. So I instaled a "porceline throne" right next to my workbench, in the basement. Not enclosed! So females dare not come close. No more spills, and I like a fresh bowl! And I also get surprising golden tints from the leather sometimes. No, no it's not what you think. It's from the high content of iron and sulfer in the water .

Most excellent tutorial. From a to z with tips and tricks, I like the one with the drill press. Thanks this is a keeper.

That looks very cool. You should try putting a bit more light on it, as to get brighter pics. I would love to see the details. Thanks for showing.

"QUOTE" (A surgeon eh? No, I can't say that a career in medicine ever crossed my mind. The graphic came from the internet. It is the standard USMC logo usually called the eagle, globe and anchor.) Sorry got things a little confused, I was commenting on the seat futher down the thread. But same things apply to the USMC seat. Nicely done rope detail, circles are hell to do right, for me anyways. With the precision of a surgeon's knife. lol

beginning of the end: Purse strap
Razz replied to jbird's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Looking real good, nice stitching. By the way, what is in the circles, if you don't mind me asking. -
That is a stunning effect, beautiful. My daugther as been asking me for a laptop case, never made a case before. Will have to attempt, is the front and back just one peace of hide. Always inspiring to see other peoples results. Thanks.

Evolution of a note pad
Razz replied to Timd's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I like it, in fact I also need one of those. Short term memory, I know what you mean. I tried one of those recorder thingies, but felt kind of redonculous standing there litening to myself. I'd rather have the pad, as long as I remember to bring it when I leave for somewhere. It looks great. -
Very nice work, clean and precise cutting. Ever think of becoming a surgeon Do you draw your own graphics?
-
Well, one thing for shure drawing skills come in real handy for leatherworking. Not having to rely on others for your graphics is a plus. This a great place for info, and peoples here are the nicest and friendliest, I have seen in any forum Good luck and enjoy.

Binder covers, for daughter and friends. Took some leather classes at tandy's shop, some 20 odd years ago. Made the standard stuff, then just stopped, got to be too expensive What with house, wife, kids. You know how that goes. But got the bug back, when went to the fleamarket and found huge tool box full of stuff, tools, paterns ect............ The guys uncle had died and the stuff was in his aunts basement, got for a few hundred. Anyways got the bug back, and have more spare time. Made these for the daughter and friends. Funky backgrounds are from daughter and her photoshoping.

It might have been a bugger to make, but the result from what I see were worth it. Not letting my daudhter see this one, she is a little purse drazy lately. Congrats for your ant, that purse will surely give her an extra boost. Nice work.

Very pleasing to the eyes. By he way, any mistakes you made has been eclipsed by your beautiful workmanship (work"women"ship) in your case. Only one thing, my daughter has seen this, guess what she wants now. Now I will have to try and sell on "Beauty is only surface deep, it's what is on the inside that counts. Something like that. All kidding aside, your work is inspiring. Thanks for showing it.
