Just finishing up this Elephant billfold. I purchased the elephant from a guy who was closing up his shop. Great color and texture. The interior is fully lined with black French goat, hand stitched with .45mm Golden Ochre Amy Roke linen thread, edges are creased and painted with Fenice.

Here is a recent creation of mine for a friend. She is moving away and asked if I could make her a billfold. She said if I could possibly carve a silhouette of a horse, that would be great... and of course when someone is easy to please and doesn't want you to go through a lot of trouble, it just makes you want to go all out on it. And I happen to know she really likes duns and buckskins. The veg tan is 4 oz belly and the lining is pigskin. It is machine stitched. I tried something new in my stamping by spacing my camouflage a little more and then adding a seeder dot in between them. I actually think it looks pretty good that way. Any questions? Comments/critique are always welcome. Thanks for looking! -Ryan

Billfold for dad
battlemunky posted a topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Last weekend I made some shearling hose shoes for my mom for xmas so to keep dad from feeling like Tiny Tim, I made him a wallet. As any of y'all into rock and roll know, a few weeks ago we lost Malcolm Young from AC/DC and they are my dad's favorite band. He was pretty sad about it....said "that dude is one of my heroes", so instead of a plain wallet like I was planning, I had the idea to make him an AC/DC wallet. If anyone can tell me how to get images to post in here I'd appreciate it. It used to work for me but now I always get the size limit error. I'm apologizing in advance for the links. https://image.ibb.co/gcwKpb/20171201_141820_1.jpg https://image.ibb.co/n0QZNw/20171201_145749_1.jpg https://image.ibb.co/jsEuNw/20171202_114753.jpg https://image.ibb.co/hr5OFG/20171202_114812.jpg https://image.ibb.co/khOAvG/20171202_113502.jpg https://image.ibb.co/buvqvG/20171202_114806.jpg -

Hey folks ! Its been a while since posted any new items , ive been busy with getting married and moving in to a new apartment, and a few other things. My dad has been on to me since last year to make him a wallet , kind of joking...... but i can take a hint ! I finally bit the bullet and made him one , Im going to send it to him for fathers day , (he is in Ireland) The wallet is made form 2-3 oz leather for the cover the same for the card slots but skived down to 1-2 Cash slot is lined with pig skin split. Might i add is an absolute bitch to sand in the edges when there is 2 layers of pig in the middle ! The veg tan is dyed with tandy eco flow dark brown antique, followed by a coat of neatsfoot oil, followed by about 3 light coats of satin shene. and a good bit of buffing between coats. then i put it all together, stitched it , and sanded the edges before beveling and then on to burnishing which i did using the yellow saddle soap and my hand burnisher wrapped in denim. ( i really like the saddle soap for burnishing ) then i dyed the edges with dark brown pro oil dye, and sealed them with 3 light coats of resoline. Over all i think it turned out pretty good. Feel free to leave me your opinions good or bad , as i am still learning and i love the feed back ! Have a great day people and God bless !

ive just completed my second wallet , it turned out pretty good with a very unexpected dying finish (Accidental) but the finish looks great , i first dyed all the inside pouches with med brown antique finish which turned out the expected antique brown. I USED A CLOTH TO APPLY THE DYE. Then i dyed the outside cover of the wallet with the same antique brown ..... BUT...... i used a brand new fresh NATURAL SPONGE which i took out of a packet. It was moist when i took it out, i'm guessing the dampen them before packaging to keep them fresh and soft. But the finish i got was completely different to the rest of the wallet. The only way i can describe it is an almost alligator grey/brown which looks really good ! On the outside cover i also incorporated a Brand which was on the leather i bought hince the name i put on the wallet "The Cowboy " By the time i was finished waxing and finishing the edges this evening the daylight was gone and i have really yellow light in the house , not ideal for taking pictures . but i did any way and here they are , Tomorrow when i finish work ill take good pictures outside when its still bright and upload them . By the way i was also wondering has any one else experienced the whole sponge changing the colour of the dye ? And if not its definatly worth a try ! Also i used olive oil instead of neatsfoot oil on the whole wallet so that could not have affected the colour . Let me know what you all think ! Ps the photos really do not do the colour any justice

I'm new to leather working, and I'm wanting to make some wallets. If anyone has some patterns for a tri-fold and/or a roper style wallet could you please post them in a reply or send them to me. Thanks, Adam
