I'm getting into leather work and need several pieces of equipment as well as hand tools and punches. I'm interested in a hand-crank skiver, kick-press snapsetter (preferably double-head), bell-knife strap splitter, round knife, hole punch sets and end punch sets. Depending on price, might be interested in a large splitter, edge painter or other equipment. I'm located in SW Virginia and can pick up items in NC, SC, TN, WV, KY, OH, or PA if needed. Let me know if you have anything you would like to sell. Thanks!

My first post here, and my first serious project. Had no idea what to do, how to go about it, and more importantly - what I wanted. Not without mistakes, but I figured it all out in the process and learned. Ready for more

I bought this from Weaver a month ago and unfortunately it isn't what I need to do the job. It has maybe 40 clicks total on it. Literally got it out of the box, set it up, clicked and realized it isn't going to do it - what I'm cutting is way too narrow and the die won't eject the slugs. So, my loss is your gain. It's all back in the box and ready to ship. You basically get a like new clicker with all the original stuff that came with it. I did mount a back stop on the clicking pad to align my work, so there are 4 very small holes (less than 1/8" diameter each). How does $900 plus actual shipping costs sound? Or you can pick it up in Toledo, Ohio. Call me or send me a message - Jesse (419) nine 57-402one I have several pictures but there isn't much to show - its a like new clicker press. If you want to see them just ask and I'll happily send.

I bout the machine "like new" last March, and it still is...I used it only twice to practice stitching a belt, but then life kinda got hectic and never got around to using it again. Then, from Texas, I moved to Alabama and the machine has been stored this whole time...and yes, It is fully assembled, you can see it run and test it out before purchase. Ok, as for price....I have 3 options for you to consider... 1. $2700, my price of the machine INCLUDING my whole investment of merchandise for my attempted leather business (lol), which values at approx. $3500-$4000 at least..ALL purchased from Tandy Leather......THIS consists of NEW HUGE spools of thread*, NEW dyes and some used bottles of different color dyes, conditioner/gloss, NEW tools (multiple size punches, riveting kits, jewel setters, marker, hand carver, etc) , NEW conchos, jewels, eyelets, NEW belt buckles, LOTS of NEW UNUSED RAW leather belts, NEW belt loops AND tips, NEW packages of daubbers, 3/4" ALPHABET LETTER Leather punch set, guides, and maybe something I'm missing but whatever it is, its included! lol 2. $2500, price of the machine, spools of thread, and I will allow you to pick a few other things you might immediately need...To be discussed 3. $2250 machine only, and yes, the thread...I wouldn't want to sell you a machine without AT LEAST having that to get started *If I cannot find the thread at that moment, I WILL send it to you...Off hand, at this very moment, I can't recall where it is stored but I do have them Please consider these options and let me know how you feel, I do want to let it go, for someone else to use and benefit from so once you contact me, we can talk and see what will better accommodate each other because I have other business venture plans as well love... thank you for your time! Hope to speak with you soon!!! #GodBless

Leather Company Went Out of Business, Trying to Sell Assets
goldstamping posted a topic in Suppliers
Hello; We just purchased a building which used to be the home of a leather working company. They produced everything from halters (horses & cows) to dog leashes. We purchased the building and contents because the family did not want to spend the time to sort all of this out. We are now in the position of trying to find homes for everything. There are over 900 halters, there is all sorts of equipment and tons (literally tons) of hardware in this building. He bought his hardware by the pallet and most is North & Judd. There is a 55 gallon container of a tanning compound he had custom made for his business and a dipping tank, I can not even tell you everything that is here because not being in the business I would do it a dis-service, so I have attached some links to pages of pictures we have so far. If anyone is interested in, please let us know and let's see if we can work it out. There is also a cart of 1/8" Leather shoulders here which we have sold a few and were told they were excellent by the fella who purchased them. He made gun holsters out of Texas. Here are the links: https://app.box.com/s/wl7mlcqjr9wsvnsp9lxavw1rocncl5df https://app.box.com/s/2fpit4r5yrx4xzn5qmnv https://app.box.com/s/cevypyk34jn8gewm1t8c https://app.box.com/s/iw1ya8rpyr68kgyzh1qv Let me know if you have any question and I will do my best to answer them or take additional photos if needed. Thank you. -
I am in the market for a user-friendly stamp press machine to use on small leather accessories such as a leather credit card case. The machine will be used to emboss a logo on the leather. Not sure if I should go with heat or non? I am very particular about quality. I will not be using foil, but may want the option down the road. I have spoken to vendors and the recommendations I am getting are the following: green machine, model 25, and 55. Any feedback regarding model and vendor recommendations would be great. Thanks.

As some may have read in the conversation section of the site, I am passing the torch and preparing to sell off all of my supplies, tools, machines, books, leather, and more. I recently purchased this burnisher from Cobra folks and a favorite machine in the shop. Has been used very little and always covered when not in use. Has sanding roll on one side and rosewood burnisher on other side. Variable speed motor and reversible as well. Great cast iron stand with small holding tray just beneath the table top. Stand is height adjustable and was ideal for me as I have to work from seated position. This would be a welcome addition to any shop. Selling for first $300.00 plus shipping or may be picked up in Opelika, Alabama, 36804. I will be listing all of my items here and on other sites which will provide good exposure and result in fast sales. Hope a leather person from this site is the buyer and please watch for many more items to be listed as we are able to get things together and pics taken. Will be a difficult chore but time has dictated that it is time is to go. Ask questions and I will attempt to answer them. Check the shipping charge that Cobra has listed, @ $69.00 I believe, and I will do whatever I can to be at that level or less. Actual shipping charges only. God Bless. Ray

We have been a manufacturing facility for a major motorcycle company for the last 27 years. We will be closing our doors and liquidating the equipment and building in a few months. This is not a situation where things are sitting in storage and have unknown damage. Everything is currently being used in production and in good working order. We will be finishing out a few product lines, and as soon as production is over the equipment will be available to purchase (within a few months). Everything is pictured and priced on our website, http://midwestcustommanufacturing.wordpress.com All prices negotiable, especially if you are purchasing more than piece. Thank you.

I have bought a building which had been operated as a leather shop. It has riveting machines, punch out machines, cutting machines, skiving machines, pretty much everything needed to manufacture horse halters, leashes. leads, etc. It has about 12 pieces of machinery, the rivet machines are by Thomson, the punch out machines are by Western, all the machinery It 1,000's of pieces of hardware (rivets, studs, caps, o-rings, d-rings, square rings, buckles in numerous sizes (brass and nickel plated),most made by a company called North &Judd. It also has 1,000's of pieces of hardward like snaps, latches, swivels, snap bolts, etc. And not to mention the 1,000's of pieces of inventory like chains for leashes, horse halters, dog collars, strips of leather which were never finished...well you get tthe idea. If anyone is interested in some of this, please let me know. We have just begun loading some of this stuff on eBay, but if someone in the business could use it, that would be better. Thank you.

Have any of you heard of the Handibot? Here is the URL: http://handibot.com/index.php Its made by the same people that make the Shop Bot. Basically it's a small CNC router. I'd like to use it to cut out small thin leather appliques (held in place with some kind of two-sided adhesive). But it occurs to me that I also might be able to use it to engrave metal hardware. I've sent the company a message asking them about the leather appliques. What do you all think? Do you all have any other uses for this bot?

As a complete nooby, I've been reading the discussions on this forum for a long time. I'll be producing handbags, saddlebags, briefcases, portfolios, throw pillows, dog collars and leashes, among other things. I'll be using both chrome and veg tan. Lately, I've been assembling a list of bench and floor equipment for a shop. I'm trying to think ahead and cover as many likely situations as I can. My question is: What machinery do you find most useful, and what brands do you prefer? Please tell me about your favorite hand-operated, hydraulic, and electric equipment that you hold or have mounted on a bench or the floor. You can exclude sewing machines and small hand tools such as hand stamps and swivel knives. Thanks in advance for all your help. This forum is an amazing resource!!
