Members TargetRockLeather Posted March 21, 2019 Members Report Posted March 21, 2019 I know I'm going to sound like an idiot, but I have to ask... how was this done? I mean, it looks like it came from a photo but how was it applied to the leather? Quote

I mean, it looks like it came from a photo but how was it applied to the leather? If in short words, in this case (without using leather inserts) the process is as follows: 1. Transfer the contour pattern to the leather (with a stylus or, as I usually do, print the contour with inkjet printer on the film and apply the printed side to the leather). 2. Carving, stamping, modeling with spoon and stylus. 3. Molding (I do not know how correctly I translated the term into English). 4. Coloring with spirit dyes. Recently, I made a small entertaining (non-teaching) video that just shows this steps of the example of the German Shepherd portrait. Edited March 21, 2019 by ABHandmade Quote

You are an amazingly talented worker who does first class work, so you do not have to be fast. I saw a sign recently that said "Fast, Cheap, Good. Choose any 2". And your use of the word 'molding' is correct, I believe this spelling is the USA spelling, (Aussie and English spelling is 'moulding' AFAIK.) Quote

Thank you, @spacedog! Patience - is accurate, but practice needs to be continued In this work, I finally managed to make the fur more or less plausible. But I myself see what next time I need to work harder on some details. Quote
ABHandmade Posted April 9, 2019 Author Report Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) Finally finished the bag. Development of the pattern strongly delayed me, so I did not have time finish it on Yana's birthday But judging by her happy facial expression today, when I handed the gift, it did not upset her much Edited April 9, 2019 by ABHandmade Quote

Contributing Member JLSleather Posted April 13, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted April 13, 2019 I already commented on your pic on the gallery, but wanted to pop in here to see if'n there was pics of the interior. As expected, very nicely done. Add to what I already said... purse "feet", "logical" design, "pucker free" innards, interior compartments.... shutting off the screen now lest my wife see that one GREAT work. To bypass translation from ENglixh, let me just say .... Quote

To bypass translation from ENglixh, let me just say .... Sir, thank you for your compliments on my work - both here and in the gallery. This is my first experience in creating a women's bag, so I was very nervous, for fear of problems due to lack of experience. Thanks again for your support and kind words. Quote
