Members Stetson912 Posted March 5, 2020 Members Report Posted March 5, 2020 Finally finished this stock cover for a model 94. 100% leather construction. Lined with deerskin and laced together. Even the back strap is laced in and tied off. I'm happy with how it came out, especially since I dont own a lacing chisel haha Quote

Members battlemunky Posted March 17, 2020 Members Report Posted March 17, 2020 Looks great @Stetson912! My hand is cramping just thinking about all that backgrounding...I tend to squeeze my tools, especially backgrounders, and I mess up my hands and tips of my thumbs pretty good. Quote
Members DrmCa Posted March 17, 2020 Members Report Posted March 17, 2020 Very neat! Does the strap across the buttpad rub your shoulder under recoil at all? Quote

Thanks Munky, it was a lot of back grounding. But turned out ok I think 10 hours ago, Oxbo said: Very nice ! ! ! Thanks! 6 hours ago, DrmCa said: Very neat! Does the strap across the buttpad rub your shoulder under recoil at all? I don't know. I made it for my uncle. No complaints yet though. I did skive it a little thinner than the leather i used for the rest of it. I wouldn't think it would be uncomfortable. I didn't fire it but I shouldered it and it felt about the same as normal. His is also a .357 mag instead of a 30.30 like mine Quote
Members AwlShucks Posted March 18, 2020 Members Report Posted March 18, 2020 (edited) Looks great. Is there also a leather wrap, on the lever, in the 94’s future? Edited March 18, 2020 by AwlShucks Quote

This was for my uncle. Its pictured on my gun but I made it for his. So I honestly cant say. But if I ever get around to making one of my own, I would definitely wrap the lever in some way. Quote
Members Vikefan Posted March 30, 2020 Members Report Posted March 30, 2020 That thing is wonderful! I want to make one now, but I really suck at carving... I am much better stamping things. Way to go.. I love it and have a few lever actions that need these. Vikefan Quote
