I've wanted to do the same, but the book moves in the cover when you open/close it. I think some of the other method may be better, maybe something more attached to the book instead of the cover. 12 hours ago, JLSleather said: Some folk is determined to use it... so ... say lah vee ... Yep. Actually have some of the same frustrations that a lot of others have, so I mix up my own to get a much more subtle result that I can apply only to the areas I want, instead of the whole piece. Now, what to do with all the jars and tubs of antique I have left over.... 2 hours ago, Bawarrior said: The cover is beautiful, well done. Members MarlinDave Posted December 15, 2021 Members Report Posted December 15, 2021 My wife is a librarian. I was going to make some tooled leather bookmarks for gifts ( maybe I could manage this small a leather item). She said they would be too thick and damage the books. Anybody had success with these? I have made a ton of bookmarks. Those tooled were 5/6oz leather. No complaints. Then I did some thinner ones recently .5/1oz, but I laser engraved them. They are almost paper thin. Might I suggest using pinking shears to cut the ribbon to help with fraying or they make something called fray check (usually located in the sewing notions) Yin the Bible cover is beautiful 11 hours ago, 327fed said: My wife is a librarian. I love the look of leather bookmarks, but they are usually too thick for my books, especially if it is a paperback book (those bindings are usually glue and the pages come out easily in my experience.)
