  8. To me I think it probably has more to do to a individual machine problem then a manufacturing problem as a result of wear, over‑tightening/under‑tightening, or a damaged screw or clamp. If you are able to check the machine inspect the needle‑bar clamp and screw for wear and or other damage like a buckle needle bar, stripped screw / clamp and check that it is tightened properly and then if all is good re‑time the hook‑to‑needle as per the service manual, if not replace damaged parts then re-time. The PFAFF 2545 is manufactured in the P F A F F Industriesysteme und Maschinen GmbH factory in Taicang, near Shanghai, China. My experience: The Juki DU-1181n is a decent walking foot machine but the quality is nowhere near that of my Juki DNU-1541S. The difference is the 1181N is made in China and the 1541S is made in Japan. kgg
  9. Can I ask what color of antique you used on this project. Whatever it is, it looks great.
  10. Hi thank you Dealer don’t know about this noting and as I see no one here knows about it also so I think it’s nonsense so I need to go there and check for myself Iam very curious to know what's really going on there, it's just that he lives really far from me, but there's no way I'll have to see it. Thank you very much.
  11. The antique finish is always going to tint it a little bit. This piece has NO resist at all. I usually use Wyosheen for resist and topcoat. This piece has NO resist at all and I antiqued it three times to get the tooling dark enough.
  12. Don G has an excellent vid on antiquing.
  13. Nice work. It looks great.
  14. Thanks @YinTx Never sold any but have given a few away. If anybody wanted something I already have I would be happy to share with them. If somebody needed a certain size pattern to fit something I would help them no problem. I would just be glad someone thought my pattern was good enough to use. I always have an issue somewhere in the pattern I don't like. I am getting ready to make my wife a new purse and I have redone the drawing a couple of times. Working on a wallet pattern as well for myself. They are finished but I need to go have them mirror imaged. You can see in some of those drawings I draw one side and then get a mirror image and put them together. On a tote bag or purse, anything with two opposite sides I will mirror image the whole pattern and one side is a mirror image of the other side. My 20 yr old printer can shrink and enlarge but no mirror image. I did notice just now I failed to mirror image the basket weave. The cats love these things.
  15. Appreciate it, there's no giant rush. They all look pretty closely related so not real reason not to list them together. It's up to you, really. Your edit window has closed on the above post. You can either add a reply to this thread and I'll kill these couple of posts so the info immediately follows the original post, or create another post(s) and I'll kill this thread. I'll keep an eye out for how you proceed. Meanwhile, we'll leave this thread here so you get exposure. Let me know how I can help.
  16. Just started installing a new hook on my Singer 211G156. First thing I noticed was the hook timing was way off, and the large gear could not be moved sideways enough to correct the timing. I have not ran this machine yet so thought the timing must have been off when I purchased it, and I'm only just finding this out now. However, I pulled the new hook out and put it side by side with the original hook. As can be seen in the pictures, the V-slot in the new Chinese (supposedly a CKPSMS) hook https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262943436183 is in a completely different position. I had to advance the small gear on the hook shaft one tooth to be able to time the hook. So my big question is will a hook for a Juki LU-562 drop straight in to a Singer 211G156. Up to this point I'm under the impression the answer is yes, but am I wrong. It will not be a big deal so long as the large gear is still fairly centrally aligned to the center of the hooks vertical shaft, i.e. I don't have to move it sideways too much to get the timing correct. I haven't fine tuned it yet but it seems to be OK in that regard. Tomorrow I need to check the positioning of the eccentric on the Chinese hook and see if it's the same as the original hook. If that is way out of rotational position that's going to affect the timing of the case opener arm. Looking at the photos it initially appears the eccentrics positions may be different but I'll check with a dial gauge. Chinese hook is on the left and original hook on the right.
  17. I´d say this new fancy Pfaff machine range is not wide spread already. I doubt there is much experience with this type of machine yet. But why should a top class manufacturer like Pfaff have needle bar issues? Well, you never know but I seriously doubt this cause they for sure have experience from the older models and why should a simple part like a needle bar cause issues? If there was / is a known issue then your Pfaff dealer should know about it and should provide a replacement.
  18. My friend ask me to craft him new pouch, be cause older was broken.
  19. I have one just like the one shown except mine is original green. Mine needs belts and a good lubrication and it'll fire right up. Mine is completely in tack and I am willing to except offers if anyone needs it to use or for parts I'll sell only the whole machine. I'm located in Oklahoma. 918-206-2946, ask for Scott.
  20. Hi I think its ok to assume that Will is still in business since his website is being updated. I have used one of his pattern packs and it worked great with the exception that I used leather that wasn't thick enough to be stiff. Working on Hand of God now. Later
  21. They came out absolutely fantastic. How did you do the lettering for the "Surly Joe" lyrics?
  22. @Tim Schroeder, Your art is fantastic. Do you or have you ever considered selling patterns?
  23. 1 coat. Antique is a stain that can stain just about anything it touches if it is allowed to dry, even pro-resist. So don't let it dry where you dont want. Technique counts here. Apply the antique in smaller sections and quickly wipe off before it has a chance to dry. Practice on scraps to get the feel of it ( you get some tooling practice this way, too). It might still darken the wipe-off areas a bit, but you will learn to take this into account. You can try 2 coats, or more, if you wish, but practice working smaller areas anyway. Practice is good.
  24. Thank you. I will work on this tomorrow. Would it make sense to list each item separately, or just continue with the single listing?
