  2. Thanks for the DM @fredk I did get an email notification for the DM 🔥
  3. I'll play with you
  4. Today
  5. What zipcode are you searching?
  6. Checked my email, and I don't see anything there. (not surprised, since the "follow topic" toggle was not checked)
  7. Now somebody replies to the topic
  8. They're a brick and mortar business that's been in the same location for 28 years now. They have more parts than you can shake a stick at! Plus, it's a family run business.
  9. I think you are all unexpectedly getting what we up north get lots of. If you have a vehicle breakdown, one guideline in the north is that you start a fire first, make repairs second. This is often not a concern in warmer areas, but it's a lot easier to stay warm, than it is to get warm. Be well, everyone. Help neighbours. All that warm stuff.
  10. Hello this is friquant, testing as a new user to see what the default notification settings are. The goal is to improve the default notifications settings so new users will realize someone has answered their post. So this is my first post as a new user "test32". The first thing I notice is that the "Follow Topic" toggle is NOT enabled by default. See screenshot. I suggest we change this default to "enabled" for new users. I'll go ahead and click "submit" and see what happens.
  11. will have to make a before and after video.
  12. I got another saddle stand so the Navajo saddle is setup for display now. The stirrups are an antique set of wood oxbows that seemed fitting, and the stirrup leathers they are hanging from I cut and laced together to "fill the hole." I left the leather lighter color intentionally so its obvious they are not original, but might stain them to match at some point. I don't want it to look like a forgery though. At some point I plan to make a set of simple skirts as well, unless I can find some used ones to recycle from a western saddle that fit the saddle and look right with it. My goal is to complete the setup as much as I can for display, but to preserve the original saddle as it is. The Navajo blanket I a bit tattered on the ends, so I'm going to add some padding under it. My Dad used to hand sew canvas behind some of these rugs if they were coming apart, and I think this one is a good candidate for that.
  13. You could make the other type of mechanics belt for her. There's a type that has no buckle, but rather a metal hook hidden on the underside of where the buckle would normally be. It's all "leather" on the exterior. Allot of those qualify as a "2 prong" buckle as well, since many were made with 2 "prongs" on the backside.
  14. I think is is BECAUSE the person doesn't have a background in chemistry or paint that they are asking on this forum how to do it. Seems like they are looking for someone who DOES have that background and already DOES make their own edge paint (without paying the really high premiums of many manufacturers) to help them figure out how to do it. No offense, but it seems obvious the person is not asking to be told to just go out and buy it.
  15. Can we make "notify by email when someone replies to a topic I created" the default for new users?
  16. He ^^^^ has the exact right idea . . . and if you do go with a 2 prong buckle . . . you can make it up to 2 inches wide . . . Best wishes . . . May God bless, Dwight
  17. yup thats nice work.
  18. Somewhere in your settings, you can set it up to email you notifications. I'll look later on today and maybe we need to make a post on how to fix that. Evidently it's not the default.
  19. Hello, I'm buying an Adler 767-FAS-573 machine. She has old Efka vario DC (type N153). I wonder if I could swap it with new model. For new parts I can get a controller (DA321G5325B - N208), motor (DC1550) and control panel (v820). I wonder if there will be some soldering new connectors involved, and if pneumatic system will cooperate with new controller. If any of You have some knowledge about this kind of swap, please share. Kind regards, Mike.
  20. Make a ranger belt; no hardware will touch her body.
  21. Check out https://www.pethardware.com/en/belt-buckles/?pl50=2 and https://www.pethardware.com/en/roller-buckles/?pl50=2 They have a choice of stainless, brass and zinc die-cast.
  22. This is a good tutorial (with pictures) that might help: https://www.ivan.tw/blogs/how-to/tech-tip-double-loop-lacing
  23. Hi Friquant, sorry for the late reply, I thought no more posts were coming to this thread. No email notifications have came to me, and I've only just seen your reply. I'll make a video tomorrow. My new hook arrived today and wow, what a difference as far as wear goes. The case on the new hook has very little play within the hook so I'd say the huge amount of wear in the existing hook/case may be a big contributor to the problem.
  24. Bert03241

40 inches long wow he's a skinny dude That's one fine looking Belt you made him. He'll be proud to wear it, I'm sure
  25. All you have to do is step away from the negotiation, it is that easy. Toledo Industrial sewing machines is a great to purchase items. I like buying parts from there, great customer service from Bob Kovar.
