  2. That machine looks very similar to the Consew P-1206RB. It could be the forerunner of the 1206. Maybe the specs on the page will apply to your machine.
  3. Agreed LOL Yes, that is true
  4. Thanks, I was very offended.......... I like to think it helps keep my mind somewhat functional by doing things the hard way.
  5. Today
  6. I would tuck the start of the lace under the leather covering the scales, turn at right angle and start wrapping, using weatherproof PVA glue to hold. At the end, tuck the loose end under the lacing wrap, sticking with the w/p PVA, come up about 4 turns of the wrap. Takes a bit of dexterity to do it. I've done sword grips this way.
  7. I moved your post to Saddle Identification, Restoration & Repair
  8. kangaroo lace wrap it just like paracord.
  9. How would you secure the lace? This is something I've thought about trying.
  10. A new to me Pfaff double needle 346-H2. Won't pick up the bobbin thread. Ya, I've tried moving the rotary hook closer to the needle scarf. Used the needle bar clamp and gauge. (1.8mm). finally called in a repair guy from the local sewing machine shop that serviced industrial machines. No joy, couldn't "fix" it. There has got to be something I'm missing here. The repairer say the hooks are probably worn out? No, it has never sewn for me. Just now starting to get it recommissioned after picking it up a couple years ago. . SOOOO... what am I missing? OR, anyone know of a replacement part for these rotary hooks? I can't find any info on interchangeable parts/modern made. Are any Pfaff single needle machine parts interchangeable?
  11. I would pack the grip with some veg tan leather, about 3-4mm, shaped and beveled, then wrap it all in leather thonging/lace, from hilt to guard
  12. Through my searching I found a small saddle maker in VA that went by that name but the trail went cold after 2011. It may or may not be the maker, he could have retired.
  13. I often sew different types of leather together and and sometimes of different thicknesses as well. I would never start sewing a project without first sewing a piece of scrap and adjusting tension (if necessary to ensure the "knot" is as central as I can get it.
  14. Many years ago I picked up this consew 2206RB industrial walking foot sewing Machine. I can’t find much info about it. when I google that model number all it pulls up is a modern consew machine. Can anyone tell me about this machine? It’s made in Japan
  15. I go "Activity" "All Activity" both phone and laptop. For me it shows read and unread.
  16. I don't have all the forums and subforums set to show on the sidebar. If you click your name and go to your profile, you should be able to see all your posts.
  17. An AndyTube video got me started measuring bobbin tension on domestics. One less variable. Most people don't bother.
  18. One thing I notice on my phone is that after I click on a post in the New Posts section and I go back to the New Post menu the link is gone. This doesn't happen on the website.
  19. An aquaintance has a tanto style knife that has a paracord wrapped handle that he would like to be replaced with leather. The knife is flat -ish the entire length with the crossguard and heel (back portion) being wider preventing the use of stacked leather washers. The knife is used often so the leather would need to be durable, not just decorative. I ‘ve never done anything like this and would not know where to start. Any ideas?
  20. I scrolled back through your posts to last February and don't see anything hidden from view. I'm pretty sure if there was a problem requiring your posts to be removed, somebody would give you a heads up. BossLady runs a pretty amiable establishment here. Not to say a software kerfuffle couldn't cause a problem, but not likely.
  21. I'm curious do you find it useful to measure the top thread tension as well?
  22. What a great way to earn money right now!
  23. Mike and Gretchen Graham, the owners of Ruxtons Trading Post in Manitou Springs CO, know western saddles. They used to write a column on appraising saddles for the Western Horseman magazine. Could ask them about your saddle. https://ruxtons.com/
  24. Thank you Tom. I played around with the excess piece that I cut off. I felt that it tools well enough, but just a bit more difficult than regular HO veg. I did eventually find a bunch of indoor from 10-15 years ago using Google which sent me back here. So I was able to find the information I was looking for. But I couldn't find this post that I made to make an update haha. I'll see how this goes, and if it's up to my standards I'll most likely post pics in show off. Thanks again
  25. Ok. I was checking through my account on activity and couldn't find anything. So I just assumed they disappeared. I'll have to remember to check the form categories I post in more thoroughly. Thanks
  26. Figures…as I try to make a video I can’t replicate the issue. Maybe I’m crazy and I just don’t know what straight is😅 I’ll do a few more tests and if it happens again, I will update. Thank you all for your responses!!!
  27. Sometimes I have noticed my own topics that I start do not show up in the side bar topic list right away even though they are in the forum and visible in that side bar for other viewers. I think I have noticed it more on my phone and iPad than on the computer but haven't really checked it further.
