Hey everyone, hope all are well. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what stamping tools or other techniques they use for tooling mud flying off a mudtruck tire that's moving at a high rate of speed. I've been tooling/leather crafting for years now, decent enough to make a living off of my leather crafting and custom tooling I do on it, but for some reason, I'm really struggling with this dang order... I have had several customers wanting me to tool their mudtruck, jeep, etc and no problem. But the pic this fella wants is unlike the usual- he's hauling butt through a mud bog. Before I ask for a different picture or have to alter the pic a bit, thou…

Whats your process for stamping saddles. Take a cantle back for instance. When you mold it and tack it, do you let it dry enough to stamp, then pull it off right then and stamp, or let it dry up overnight, pull off and dampen enough to tool? Do you back up the thick skirting leather, like you do the thinner stuff, to prevent stretch?

I read several post a while back that referenced glueing poster board to the back of leather, to keep the stamping from distorting the shape. Is this necessary with heavy skirting, like when stamping saddles? What are you glueing it with and how do you handle the residue when you pull it off?

Hello all .... I’m looking to step up my ability to put a customer’s initials on a few of my leather good .... tote bags, Dopp Kits, wallets .... and want something other than the options that Tandy offers. I’ve found this seller on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/275515814/alphabet-leather-stamps-with-t-slot. Has anyone here bought from them? Any suggestions on a nice font, and size? Thanks .... Don

I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out what size of beveler(s) I should get? I currently only have the Crafttool B701, which is fine for most things but is just too big for those small, finer spots- and I end up just mushing everything Tandy is the only store around, and even that is 1.5hrs away, plus covid so you can't go in. It's so hard to judge the pictures online, so I'm just not sure what exactly I need. If anyone could reccomend what size of bevelers are good for small/fine areas I would be very grateful!

I picked up a couple sizes of hourglass stamps at the Wichita Boot and Saddle Show. I marked the two horizontal lines, but just eyeballed the spacing. It's not too bad, but it could certainly be more even. I'm curious if anyone goes to the effort to mark the spacing. I appreciate any suggestions for creatively using this stamp. Thanks, Randy

I picked these stamps up today at a garage sale. They are all old craftool stamps, not sure who made the swivel knives and most of the other tools. I was told that all the tools were bought in the mid to late 50's.

I have a customer who brought in a bunch of stuff to get framed (my day job) and one of those things is a leather name badge from their father's WWII uniform. The thing is, they're doing multiple frames and don't have enough of them for everyone, so they were hoping to get some duplicated. Does anyone recognize the font used for the lettering? You can see that it was done by hand with a single stamp at a time. The R's in particular are quite distinctive, and the center of the E is as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
