I'm pretty sure the boss is aware the chat isn't working but was wondering if there was an update on when they hope to have it working again.

I am a old man ,new to computers and I cant stand change ! I suppose the computer is not the place for me then . Some one put a lot of work into this new look here on this site . On one hand I should be honouring the work done on the other hand all I can think is "OH NO NOW ONCE AGAIN I FEEL LIKE A IDIOT " . I hate stumbling around blind trying to find out how things work after changes . I have always said if it works why change it ? Most of the time I end up frustrated and just go away after changes ,sad because I like this site and the people . As I get older and the world changes I feel less competent with each passing day . This is frustrating and I dont really know …

Just wondering if the security flag on my laptop is accurate and lw.net's security certificate is expired, today, Sunday 2/23/2020 at 5:59pm, or if I have an issue? Thanks, YinTx

I may be doing something wrong, or there may be a technical problem with member profiles. Every time I click on one to view the profile, it appears on the screen for a split second, and then it disappears and all I have is a white screen. I clicked on several different ones, and it happened every time. Mike

Dear Forum- I have limited time to login and read this great forum. If i could I'de be here all day the way people "google" all day. BUT...... I am amazed and getting a little peeved at the copious amounts of requests here made mostly beginners and "noobs" It seems that I login sometimes and find 3-4 pages and a huge majority of the requests are for things that even a beginner should be able to figure out-to-------I.E. oil before or after dyeing, will too much water make my cuts close, how do I cut a straight line and what should I use to cut with, can I punch holes in dry leather, and on and on....... I REALLY don't mean to come off as arrogant or above…

Hi Johanna, I just wanted to make you aware of something I came across lately in Google searches. Not sure if it's just me or if anyone else has had a problem. When doing Google searches for variety of leatherwork topics the results will show a link to leatherworker.net but when clicked on it it takes you to a different site that has malware and locks the browser into the site. I end up using Task Manager to kill the browser. For instance, tonight I did a search for "Leather guitar strap kit" and the 6th link said "Tandy guitar strap kit - Patterns and Templates - leatherworker.net". When clicked on it takes the browser to a different website, popups come up, and it lo…

Before the crash, I had bookmarked two cycle seat tutorial posts: one was by Beezachoppa called "motorcycle seat the beeza way" and the other was "seat from start to finish"... (I don't know who posted this one) they are both gone & I was wondering if they can be found & restored??? I'm finishing up the seat I am working on & I'd like to refer to the posts before I go any further. Many thanks. russ

I know a lot of you will be wondering if/when our old posts will be recovered. As Johanna mentioned on the front page, we will be able to recover almost all of the old posts, attachments, and polls. I am working on a script that will go through the old posts, re-establish their links to topics, forums, and attachments, and place them into a special forum we have set up to process them. Then all the forum moderators will move them back to their appropriate topics. It's going to take a little time to make all this happen, but I am very encouraged that we were able to salvage all our valuable text and image content that we have accumulated over the last year. Thanks so …

So, I'm looking at the 4 blank things at the top of my Firefox browser screen, and wondering what the hell that was! Probably just Johanna experimenting. Then I had to slap my forehead a good one. As do most Firefox users, I have Adblock installed as an extension... Long story short, I allowed ads for LW.net, now I can see 'em! If you have adblock, or similar, be a good forum buddy, and allow LW to show you some good stuff.
