OK, before my dear wife is going to kill me....I better make some room and move some of my Singers......I have 2 (two) Singer 188K with table and working clutch motor, need belts but in OK condition working well....they are not for heavy leather but well suited for chap leather, good clutch motor.... Also have 1 (one) Singer 211G155, walking foot, ruff condition but has potential, thread pick up lever is broke....Bob Kovar has parts! This one needs some TLC also has clutch motor and table with thread stand.....turns freely and is made in Karsruhe Germany!!! Also will trow in a large clutch motor for spare!! All this and about 30-40 new needles and some bobbins go for >>> $220,- or best offer....BUT it must be pick up in Gate City VA, 24251......if you are interested I can deliver 75 miles.....for free! Also for sale a very nice well working sweet Singer 111w102...works perfect!!! On nice table with MDF board base on casters!!! Strong motor!! Very managable pedal NOT a runaway!! Hello I am using hobby lobby acryl paint, on belts, chopper seats and more...make sure u paint on damp unfinished clean leather (veg tan only!) Then dye all remaining spaces then apply to the painted area several thin coats of acryl leather coating, there are several out there...that will last for a very long time!! James

Shirley Thanks so much...my wife and daughter are "handbag freaks" so I went and looked at their collection...seems like lots of them smaller ones have liner glued on leather....well...wonder if glue will show thru? I have fabricated the "sack" style liner, just not an elegant way for smaller pieces!!?? Thanks again!! Greetings James

Being born and raised in Germany means if you like guns or knives u are somewhat out of the order, so here I am...the odd guy...the custom knife making wave just started peaking over the fence in Germany arround early eighties and guess who was hooked....the odd guy! I read tons of stuff about knife making, made some knives and then some more...collected knives and was in heaven working on weekends in a Master knife shop. This master, Eduard Trittler had a son....he just had taken a leather class with Wolf Borger(later a first class custom knife maker!!) who also was working in this shop a few years earlier. Well, short story long...I sat down with the son, learnd for 3-4 hours how to do leather knife sheats. Boy was I proud, made my own knife sheats...wow! Guess what, knife making died and the love for leather grew so fast...here I am, the odd guy doing leather stuff and not looking back....ohhh and I still love knives and guns!!

Ur work is outstanding and very clean....I have a Bullmastiff girl, Biene is now over 14!!!!years old and still going...our brindle English mastiff keeps her company and our adopted Pitbull baby is hanging on her tail all day!!haha...... They all wear nylon, to keep the image low profile...Oh well, but I love ur collars, really cool stuff!! Thanks for sharing!!

OK, I am back....picked up a Singer 211G155 and 2 Singer 188K1...all on tables and with clutch motors, 2 extra motors and a bonus TWI household?? freearm machine??? Gave $50,- bucks for all , so I better not complain about the looks...they look ruff......the 188K's look Ok but the machine I wanted the most is in ruff shape....short story long....where do I start.....they all turn and needle bar and feed dogs move....the 211 was kind'a hesitating then gue ?? came loose and it went ( all by hand with hand wheel...) Now where would a man start to bring them back to life...they deserve a life after death, they need to be put to good work, I am assuming I can put in a new bobbin case and bobbin in the 211G....how far would you take them apart to go and get all the dirt out...how do I get some of the lite rust out of around the bobbin case...? I don't think there was water in, but some damp conditions for sure...? The 211 has a lid over bobbin missing, the 188's look complete.... Hello back.... Just did not have the time and financial means to get a roller foot, also have a roller guide.....they are easy to make ur self! Neels has all you need for this machine, give him a shout....did not realize u are in the gud 'ol UK...I am original from Germany, got hung here since abt 1993...OK on the manuals and I will make you a nice clean cpy and will send it over the big pond if you give me your shipping address.....so If I can help u any more let me know! Oh...and if you send Schmetz a letter or e-mail and ask kind'a naïve what needle would work...they send u a nice info packet back with at least one or two packs of 328's needles,,,haha, don't tell anybody I said that,,,hihi... Hi everybody....been getting lucky again, found 1 Singer 211G155 (WALKINGFOOT???) Also 2 Singer 188K1...been wondering what they can do and what they was intented to do???.....I would like to use them for medium chap leather, handbags and wallets and such....every now and then some strap work?? If any of you would like to make a coment or have an opinion on these machines, that would be great!! I am going Tuesday to look em up, not sure of the condition and such, but it seems I will get them cheep...what would be a good price for each model...?? Also the Gent claims he has some TWI ?? machines...I have no clue what that would be??? Again, thanks for your all's input and effort... Greetings James

I got me a 111w102 and now I like to find me some different pressure feet, especially a roller foot to compensate a bit since this machine does NOT have a walkingfoot!! Used would be great,or sources where to look...Bob Kovlar has some, just checking if there is anything else out here!?! Which foot can do do what on this machine....? Try "trade exchange" in Ashville, NC...they have every size u need, tons of info about thread and good prizes!! Give them a try and check there website!! I buy from them.... James

Copper eventually will react with acid and such, it could declorate ur leather due to the tanning acid...., but the material wopuld be great to form and work with to make modeling tools and such....so if I would be u, make your tools u need From ur copper rods and then seal it with clear laquer or such, it will hold for a good while and if the coating comes off....just sand a bit and recoat...done!! Thanks so much for your kind advice!! I seen u responding often to help people with sewing machine problems... I love to know much more about these machines....I am a rockie but have great interest in the matter. Been fixing and timing my beautiful little 15-91, also have a mint 99K and my pride and joy is a very clean Adler 105-64....it was all about leather and now I am all into these wicked machines...haha. Thanks so much guys....so the 111w112 has walking foot, that's good....Bob said he has parts for it, great! If I go and get this 111 what would be to watch for, any give away signs that I have to look for if it is a bad apple?? Has been used for back up in upholstery shop close by here....looks nice and well kept on picture...Gent is asking $280,- for it, table motor light and thread holder...is this a fair price? Let me know if you all have any hints for me and what to watch for when buying a 111w112..... Again thanks, this place here is absolutly great and the folks on here are true gems!! James

Fixing to look at a Singer 111w112, do all Singer 111's have walking foot? Also what does stand the 112 for, wish somebody had a list tells you all the Singer industrials and what they where intended for??? That would be cool!! Anybody has a good working well tuned Singer 111 series, or something simular with walking foot.......I am in need of a machine that does chap leather, handbags and wallets....ocasionally some 2 layers of soft 3-4 oz veg tan....anybody has anything reasonable??
