  1. That is pretty durn neat. Nice job !!
  2. I agree a 100% on that billfold being nasty !! But it's like this " if enough people say your the best often enough you become the best in peoples eyes " and everbody has to have one, see it happen several times. Doesn't matter if it's junk. i had a guy come in the shop once and ask me if i could sew up his billfold. Took a look at it and it was made out of plastic. Told him i couldn't fix and that it was made out of plastic and started telling me it was made by some big name fancy designer and he had paid $500.00 for it and that it wasn't plastic. I though it's true a fool is born ever minute !!
  3. If you put the sheath on a light background it will show up better. The way it is you have dark on dark and it's hard to see. A light box will make a difference for sure.
  4. I went and looked at what you have for sale, you shipping is very fair, but i didn't find anything i needed. As far as lookers and bidders IMO they have things so screwed up that a person has trouble finding anything. You used to be able to search in a catagory. Like if you were in the leather section and searched for a book it showed what was in that catagory. But now it searches the whole site and that's screwed up i don't want to have to look through10 thousand of something that is not the type and has nothing to do with what i want. I told them that in their little comment thing you can click on. Not that it will do any good !!!
  5. Real nice job on your concho's !!
  6. I think anything over 3 or 4 ounce leather is going to be to bulkly in your pocket. Do a search on here for red devil i think is his name he makes billfolds and such.
  7. Nice job on the bracers.
  8. Rob if you have a table saw or know somebody that does get a piece of 2x6 and run it though the saw to cut the groves.
  9. I use the nylon / plastic cutting boards to cut and punch on.
  10. What size grit powder did you get ?
  11. I've been using contact paper to keep stuff from streaching, like what in your kitchen cupboards sense i read about it on here. It brings the nap up the leather but i didn't notice it being sticky. I just spray ( wet ) things i'm going to stamp. You need to wait till it looks almost like it did before you start. You can use a hair dryer to help along drying.
  12. Knut i found some here. http://www.legendaryarms.com/meca.html I searched civil war canteen you may be able to find some more.
  13. I was wrong when i said tooling it was the carving leather that i got and it had a funny finish kinda nappy almost like a newbuck. But that was years ago and it might be different now. Sorry about the screw up on my part.
  14. I send quite a few things to Europe not saddles though. Just went to USPS website and put in a box size of 30x30x24 and it said it was to big to be mailed out of the country. How ever you send it i would go to and get some corners out boxes at a appliance store and hot glue to the inside corners of your box so it will harder to mash up. Did you go to a UPS or Fed Ex store ? The reason i ask is where i live to send something UPS or Fed Ex you have to go through them and they RIP YOU OFF !! Check UPS or Fed Ex's website and see if you can ship it through there.
  15. I built racks and store it rolled on it's side.
  16. Why don't you go to the funeral home and ask them if you can have one or buy one from them and then cover it if you want. That seems like it would be the easiest and fastest, all of the pages will be there already.
  17. Nice job on your strap. Your basket weave looks good to.
  18. Peter, you might check at a shoe repair shop if theirs one close for the spay cans of color. I'm not sure what the name of it is but i know the shoe shop here uses it to change the color on shoes. The cans look like their about half the size of a spay paint can.
  19. Weaver has patent, the elaistic and the hooks and buckles i think. Put makes stamps in the search box on here and your find maker stamps. Wickett and Craig has good leather.
  20. Real nice job !! Your customer is going to be real happy !!
  21. Nice job !! Your sticks and leaves look like sticks and leaves. The snake looks real good to.
  22. I think i would use skirting leather. Several years ago i tried a side of the tooling leather and i didn't like it to well.
  23. Are you talking about the halters that have a wide nose band people are calling bronc halters ? If you are measure the nose band on a halter to get the length then add 2 or 3 inches on each end to fold back so you have something to sew. Then get a piece of poster board and draw one out how you like it. Cut it out sew it on.
