  1. Sometimes have to lift your left leg and lean into the curve
  2. Hey, no kiddin'.. thassa lot more stampin than it looks like!
  3. On thinner leathers, I crease the stitch line and pull it down tight -- no 'groove'.
  4. Fixed.. not sure what happened there, but thanks!
  5. Minimum first purchase is $1500, so -- 40 guns. Is there currently demand for that many? Or, so 30 - since if I think for a minute I'm sure I could come up with 10 I could use purdy quickly. After teh first buy, then I (or anybody) can get guns at $39 and only need buy one (though, what's the point of just one?). But if it helps, I'd get over teh shipping charges (me to you) just to get the first buy out of the way. Advantage is, next time you need one or two, it's $40-42 plus shipping. Either way, fellas... let me know if you have use for 30 of 'em , maybe between 5-6 guys.. and I'll order 'em together.
  6. "Capital gains" in this context is a generic term meaning income. But then, upset about not getting taxed [yet] wasn't intended to be accurate or literal either
  7. Or perhaps just plain "hussliing"? One of our houses --- we listed for sale, and within hours the pics were on Craigslist as a home for rent.. $700 per month plus $700 deposit. People take money from trusting "renters". When these people show up to move in, those who took their money are nowhere to be found. I contacted craigslist (had to figure out how to do that) and let them know that I don't know whose ad that is, but I own that house and can assure you it is not available for rent. I would imagine these people are doing something similar. Doesn't matter if they can or they can't carve that (which is lookin' purdy durn good, by the way) since they have no intention of actually producing the goods. Oh, the reverse is sometimes true, too. You've heard that a copyright or trademark is only good to the extent it is enforced. Well, some apparently think that if you 'enforce" your work that is your copyright. I met a kid, got a letter from one 'maker' on here.. to please stop using "his" design. Every project I've ever seen from this "maker" was quite basic construction (looked a bit like maybe done by a blacksmith?) with light brown in the middle and dark brown around the edges (you know, like children would do ). Kid was a bit upset about it, though, so I told him long as you ain't using that guy's logo.. have at it.
  8. OH NO!!! Did I accidentally, let it slip into January before accepting offers on our houses? Rats and double drat... I'm purdy upset about not paying taxes on the capital gains until NEXT year. Well, wait -- no, I ain't ...
  9. I guess I could do something like that if there's enough interest. I dont mind bein' the gofer Besides, I could use a few more around here, too.
  10. That's 3 boards, 2 bolts, and a wing nut. Aguycould make that for about $20 using oak boards - under $10 if you use that soft stuff they have in teh pic.
  11. I'm always surprised at the number of people willing to hammer the stitching. Then the same people go on about recessing the stitching to protect it! I usually machine stitch, and really the only "flattening" needed is maybe when the holes begin to 'blow out' a bit in the back side, which is usually quickly cured with a new needle..
  12. Oh, and I forgot to mention... good clearance fer a fella's hand.. nothing preventing a good solid grip on the gun butt
  13. I got the ones from Angelus - works great. But truth is, I generally use them just on belts -- most holsters are short enough I can just use a regular dauber... think I can steady my hand for 6"
  14. Solid construction...reinforced in all the right places .. sandwiched clips .. tension in the bottom end... consistent color.... contrasting cosmetic thread ... whatz not ta like?!@! I LIKE it
  15. Just a reminder.. there's about a bazillion holsters made every day without any "pattern" at all
  16. Tell him that makes you even.. you didn't meana call him neether! You got married TWICE?!@#!! My buddy Robert mentioned he met you and some gal you was marryin - or just did -- down that way (TX) -- thought you seemed like an intelligent, decent fella (in texas, they says "fella"). I dun the same type of thing.. you know... where ya tell yer buddies i aint ne'er fixinta drink that much beer ever agin... then ya do. Course, the beer don't call you middle o the night years later ... I got married myself.. sisters' patio (concrete I put in myself), service by the pastor who is a friend of ours and would only take filing fee and coffee, and a couple witnesses. Only married this gal cuz they aintno 'wishywashy' about her.. kinda tough. She ever git tired o bein around, she prolly just punch me inna eye and go..
  17. 23 needle is pretty big hole for 138 thread I guess they're popular enough, but i don't like the 'S' point needles.
  18. YIKES..twice in one day! you got billed AND married.. I'm SO sorry
  19. Nice. One of 'em just showed up - with his "clients". Surprised to see us here, .. didn't Brooke tell you we were coming? Well, yes - yes she did. And after someone writes a check, you can decide who's here and who's not Try to be "nice' most of the time.. but really not gonna afford him the same respect I'd show an actual man...
  20. Yeah, my turn to laugh now. I've had insurance people chasing me for YEARS, wanting to know if I was interested in this house or that one! Apparently, the realty people and the insurance people do nothing in the same places. My lawyer isn't from here. I had the sense to pick someone that these scavengers haven't spent the last 20 years sucking up to!
  21. I've always used Fiebng's dyes -- the "spirit" dyes and the "oil" dyes. Directions right on the bottle. WHY go to pooptube? Unless of course you WANT to hear people telling you: I meant to do that. Its supposed to look like that Only with years of experience can you get this "effect" (BS... takes minutes, not years) it's "rustic" (translation - blotchy and cheap) If you want ONE source for information about coloring leather, get Stohlman's book "Pictorial Carving". LOTS of good info in there about dyes - including mixing and thinning.
  22. Well, I certainly would agree with involving your lawyer. But I don't see real estate people doing anything most people couldn't do themselves. Course, you're not going to have real estate people telling you what it is they are being paid for. If people realized just how easy it is.. they'd do it themselves and the "professionals" would be out of work!
  23. Seriously, I can't be the only one not blind to it. Real estate people? Where do they find these bottom-feeders, anyway? You sell a house, and I buy it -- so some "third party" gets money.. WHY? They "research" listings (which anyone with an internet connection can do), file some papers (which anyone can do) and schedule viewing of the property (which, you guessed it, anyone can do). It occurs to me, after talking to one particularly obnoxious waste of oxygen (spelled r e a l t o r) that there's another word for organisms of this type: par·a·site ˈperəˌsīt/ noun an organism that lives in or on another organism (its host) and benefits by deriving nutrients at the host's expense.
  24. I've had the "dummy" for the LC9 for months.. just haven't gotten to lay it out as yet
  25. If you have a fixed size window you need to cut out, I'd just order a die made. One "stamp" and the whole window is cut out.. done. With a little planning, you could probably make it so the cut out piece can also be used as-is.
