That's INSANE. Makes any tooling and designing I ever did look like a kid's toy Nice1! -
Well, that works for folks up that way, so thanks for the info. For myself, at $40/hr + shipping both ways on leather i already paid shipping on, maybe just buy me a piece of the weight I need I really don't need "splitting service", I was just wondering why there were people offering clicking, sewing, design, web site and graphics, but no splitting. Oh, well ....

Forum change booger my pics? Maybe just the giffies? Anyway, note to self.. just jpgs on the forum.. -
I never touch the stuff. Somebody sent me 'pinterest' stuff, so I put in a couple of pics. Next thing, I'm getting emails about "pins you might like". WHEN exactly did i ask for that? So down the road, somebody said "check out my blahblahblah instagram", but when I got there it wouldn't show me the pic without signing up, so I NEVER DID see that one That whole "social" thing is just ONE of the many things wrong with hand made crafts these days. Some people could stand to spend a bit less time "marketing" (we used to call it @$$-kissing) and spend that time IMPROVING their skills (or acquiring some). Guess I'm not feelin' the need. And certainly not feelin' it for " increase local traffic to your leather shop ". SAD, really, that there is some truth in all that poop. People DO pay for "followers", which is no matter to me. The sad part is, a bunch of people who are TRAINED over the years not to think for themselves will "follow" that same thing, simply because it looks like "everyone" else is. It's pathetic, but true. I of course am the odd-man-out. For a long time, I didn't own a tv or a couch. People would come in,.. and say (in disbelief and shock) HEY you don't have a couch!. Yeah, I know. I knew it BEFORE you did. They expected a couch... cuz "everybody else' got one. I bought a house 4 miles outside town. Not in the zoo of the rat race, but still get to town in 5 mins if I care to. But not people casually just "happen to be in the neighborhood". So one night, couple gals show up with like a 5-course meal... thought maybe I was "lonely". WHY? Did you see my truck go past yer house? Did yer phone ring? Hey, I like girls,AND I like food, so all worked out there. But do not... like pinterest.... assume that I want you to stop by again when I'm doing something else

Simple enough --- if you're worried about it -- to cut a narrow slot instead of the cut,.. then burnish the slot before folding. That item there, clearly the main concern in kicking them out quickly as possible -- minimizing the work done to it at all turns. I personaly wouldn't want something that uses FOUR layers of veg-leather just to have 4 card slots.

I'd cut a hole and put a window where the tv is. Otherwise, looks very functional.

My new holster
JLSleather replied to compound's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Tha's a LOT of angle adjustment. Stitchin' looks great, too. You could shoot it standing up, you could shoot it sitting down. You could shoot it in the air, or shoot it at the ground. You could shoot it in a box, you could shoot it with a fox. -
Maybe I'll try them again I ordered there once before, they replied to an email say 'yes, they are LL and in stock". Then they sent me LR Okay, I clicked the button to pay, but I can't look! Guess the worst is I got another pack of needles that aint the right ones

Bout all that's left I could find of Wickett / Craig chestnut skirting (guess i gotta call and spend more money). Anyway, the fit is purdy good. Gotta do some cosmetic 'purdyin' up" in the file itself, and pattern should be up on cutesy couple days (ish). Go on admit it.. ya like the way that stitch line sits up on the rig ...

I don't think there IS such a thing as a "fix" here. I've bought drum-dyed (at the tannery) leather that was dry for a month, and when you form it, ya git a little bleed out. And I aint sure what "apply a sheen ta yer finish" means, but yeah.. what alex said.
-
Yeah, that's a footage mark. 10 point zero... or 10 sq ft (the underline is "tenths").
-
since you bought them, we assume you would ,know if the numbers were prices. If they aren't prices, then probably square foot area. 9, 10, and 11 could well be the size of small double shoulders, or possibly single bends.
-
How many you boys 'n' gals orderin out that way? Just talked to a friendly fella gonna send me a few bits. I didn't order any, but I see they gotsum HO "B" for $215/side, which aint too extreme. If a fella was in OR, have no reason not to go check 'em out, right?
-
How large are the skins? Those numbers may be square feet.... 10.0 .... 11.0 .. 9.0.....

Nope.. I was able to salvage the PROJECT, but not the dye. Would have been nicer (and a better partner for the caiman) with the walnut dye. Next week the walnut dye will get here and i'll be out of the caiman That color is med. brown with some chocolate splashed in to town down the red tint a bit.
-
Yeah, it turned out 'okay-ish'. But it would have been better ... more 2-tone to match the caiman hide .... if that walnut dye wasn't all over the floor and my gym shoes

Maybe i shuda posted in sewing machine section?

JLSleather replied to JLSleather's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks! I hand sew when needed - and that's it. Stuff that won't fit in the machine, or stuff quite small that makes me not want to adjust tensions back n forth just to stitch 10" Tracks? Idunno... the leather is completely dry when I run it through, and the foot pressure is backed of to no more than needed. Not sure if that was your question? -
I said booGerbelt, with a "g". But yours could be amusing too

Prolly is, if a guy was thinkin about something other than the topic. I guess other people just use girls to carry bulky items. 'Course, that makes good sense, actually. Put 'em ta work, that's what I say.
