Thanks for the info Spencer, thats what I was looking for. I wish I could go somewhere and try some stuff out, but with me being in Ohio, theres really nowhere I could go and try some out. Im looking carefully at everything and trying to decide, so I only have to buy the tool once, instead of 3 or 4 times lol. Thanks, Chris

Thanks for the info Wiz!!! Very informative!!!!!! -
Thanks Woods. I figure it wont be long and the budget will be gone. And thats the thing I want to buy good stuff the first time around. Dont get me wrong I like having tools, but I just dont like having to buy them two times. I realize that a splitter and a sewing machine isnt included in that budget but we can wish lol. Thanks, Chris

I am wanting to get away from tandy kits. And I need some tools, once I learn the fabrication end of things I would like to go into saddlmaking. And right now I have about 1500 bucks to spend on the stuff. What would you buy and by what maker? I am in the market for pretty much everything from round knifes to edgers punches etc. Thanks, Chris

Ive been wondering here, how do you guys determine the thickness of leather you use for different stuff? Because Im pretty sure you dont use the same ounce for belts, wallets, spur straps and lining. Im gearing up because I have been using tandys kits, but Im about tired of the pre punched kits and plus I want to actually learn on how to assemble stuff. Any way is there any general rule of thumb for ounce sizes for different projects? Thanks, Chris

Ok thanks again. So this machine would it work for belts and wallets and such? Because if it will work for that I mite just go ahead and buy it for that. And if nobody is going to jump the gun on me here I will post a link to the ad lol. And I dont know the difference between a clutch motor or a servo motor, but the one thats on it looks like a motor they put on the new ones. But then again I dont know. Ok heres the link Sewing Machine

Hello all, I was searching the local classifieds and found a Singer Commercial 153W-102 for sale. And from the pictures it looks pretty heavy duty. But in the future I would like to build saddles and horse gear, would this sewing machine be heavy enough to do that? It looks pretty stout but then again, I know nothing about sewing machines lol. Would it work for saddles and tack? And would i still be able to find parts for it, if I ever needed them? Thanks, Chris Sorry I had the wrong info in the title lol..

Hello from another Ohioan!!

Thanks guys!!! The debate at work was a little i guess off base. Because when someone says cowboy to me I think of the actual working cowboy. And to the other guy he was think the rodeo cowboy. So I guess we were both right lol. Thanks for the replies, but this doesnt have to stop this thread lol. I dont mind talking trucks or reading about them at all. Thanks, Chris Oh and wyoming slick, that is an awesome picture!!
-
At work me and another guy got into a discussion about trucks. And we got into the cowboys/ranch truck area. And hopefully people on here can settle this dispute. I was saying to him that the truck would be an old one with faded paint, 2wd or 4x4 wouldnt really matter. And he said that you need a crew cab with fancy paint. Now mind you I have never really been west...well unless you count vacation when I was little. But I wish I could go out there and at least try and cowboy...aaaaa dreams. Anyway, can someone here help me out on this? And possibly a pic of a truck like that. Just so I can print it out and take this hole thread in and let him read it. Thanks, Chris
