Ok i have heard of different methods of doing this. Please excuse the very newbie question here. But I have heard people say to put the jewlers rouge on the flesh side of a piece of leather and other people say to use cardboard. What do you use and recommend? I have tried both, but I dont know the difference between them. Thanks, Chris

A ups store should be able to pack it for you. They should have a machine that has that expanding foam in it but its in bags and they place around the item while it is still warm and then it expands and wraps around your item to be shipped. Hope I helped, Chris

Hello I am trying to find supplies to build a bench for my self. I have search this forum and came up with a few ideas. And I want to find some old or slightly damaged kitchen cabinets and a countertop. I have went to the local home improvement stores and have came up with nothing. Unless I want to buy new and pay a lot of money. So do you all have any ideas? Please? Thanks, Chris

Thanks all. I am closer to Columbus then to Pittsburgh. I am going to have to check out the Buckeye guild. Online video demos would work great. I do have the complete Al Stohlman home study course I am trying to learn out of. But I just cant seem to learn out of books. Never have been able. Thanks all, and sorry for my anger...It was just really discouraging... Thanks Again, Chris

Hello all, I havent been here in a while. As a matter of fact I havent done leather work in a while. But the main reason is. I have a hard time learning from books. I do better when I have some one show me. So I havent touched a swivel knife in about a month and a half and have thrown away pretty much every piece I have done...I know. I get angry about ready to give up but I dont want too. So I was wondering if there are any groups or anything out there that meet, I mean in person not just through the computer. I didnt know what other forum to put this on. I am located in Clarington Ohio if that helps. In on the eastern part of ohio. right on the Ohio river. Thanks, Chris P.S. Thanks to listen to me rant.....

Hello, My name is Chris and I am just starting in leather work. I have purchased the deluxe tandy kit and also, I was on ebay and purchase the Al Stohlman Home Study course book. So, I think I am going to have to follow that. No I dont have any pics of my work yet. I still need to put together a work bench, does anyone have any suggestions for one? Thanks, Chris
