  1. I was surfing around You Tube and found this video. I thought it was interesting, it might of been posted before, so if it has I apologize. Its a tannery in Tuscany Italy. Chris

  3. Ok I will admit right off the bat, I know NOTHING of sewing machines. But on phase conversion, a subject I know a little about. I built a rotary phase converter to run my 12" Clausing lathe. I will tell you with an rpc, it sure likes it electricity! If I had to do it over again, I would go with a static converter. You have to buy one for each machine, but they will let you run 3 phase off of single phase 220. http://www.phase-a-matic.com/StaticDescription.htm Travers tools has them http://www.travers.com/regular-heavy-duty-static-phase-converters?Category=electrical%20equipment%20%26%20supplies:298251||converters:298257||static%20phase%20converters:298265||UserSearch=block%20id%2034363%20and%20class%20level3%20id%20298265 I know alot of guys run their lathes and mills off of them. I should of done that lol. Chris
  4. http://springfieldleather.com/34306/Side%2CHermannOak%2CBlack%2C8-10oz/ They can cut out what you would like and I do believe they will split it to the thickness you would like.
  5. Veg-tan is the process of tanning it. I haven't seen any that has been pre-dyed. I am probably wrong with that though. Chris
  6. Another good one Jayjay. Whats the overall dimensions on that? Thanks, Chris
  7. Good luck with the auction. As to the powered way, I figure its either treadle power or line shaft powered. I really doubt it is electric powered, although it may be, it depends on the region on Amish. Lets us know how it goes. Thanks, Chris
  8. I got it! Had to use Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome. Thanks, Chris
  9. Thank you!!! I'm going to put this on my wish list! Chris
  10. Its neat looking thats for sure! It almost looks like it would be a back ground tool/matting tool, but I'm not too too sure. Chris
  11. Thanks Jack. Im going to have to figure whats going on with my puter.... Thanks, Chris
  12. Thank you for that! Im interested in your book. Do you have a website that you offer it from? Thanks, Chris
  13. Thanks for the link!!! Can anyone else get the tool catalog to load? All that comes up is a black page, and I did check, my adobe is at its current version. Thanks, Chris
  14. I have been watching Nigel Armitage and Ian Atkinson on YouTube, using pricking irons. It seems that they used two ways, one just to mark the hole spacing, and the other to completely punch the holes instead of using the awl. Which way do you prefer to use? Or do you do both and it depends on the project? Thanks, Chris
  15. Nice work. What pan handle of West Virginia are you from? Chris
  16. Could you possibly post a picture of the lace you use? Maybe some one here would be able to identify it for you. Chris

On the hand stitching speed, you may be able to email Nigel Armitage (I do believe he is a member on here) or maybe Katsass, those two come straight to mind about hand stitching everything. They might be able to direct you to a certain speed. (I didnt mean to leave anyone out on here that also hand stitches, those two just popped into my head) Chris
  18. Cool!!! I was under the impression that only veg-tan can be stamped like that. I was wrong!!!! Chris
