Eagle, welcome to the forum. The textured surface will aide in keeping your leather from moving around on the cutting board. A smooth surface you'll be chasing it all over the place. Ken

Wow Dave, $140.00 for an air riverter down there? I'm going to start buying them here and selling them down there. Mine cost $29.95 and it works just great. Ken

Ghost, what I got was an air riveter, if your planning on stretching the leather over the pan and riveting, this is going to be the BEST investment you aver made. The air riveter is SO EASY to use compared to a hand opperated one, you will cherish it every time you make a seat. Ken

Beautiful Victor, glad to see you back and posting your work, I always enjoyed looking at such great craftsmanship. Thanks Ken

Glue: Barges from Tandy Files: Autobody Supply Store Templates: I use clear plastic sheets from "Office Depot" the ones used for overhead projectors. And my laser printer or a Sharpie pen to draw the design onto Oils, Waxes, Dyes: Tandy Ken

Jim, my thinking on this, is that the seat should be recovered in new leather. Rather than spending the time and money on repairing an ols worn out seat by sewing patches that will make a weak spot on the seat, and trying to match the dye, hoping that there will be no crocking in the future, is just not as wise to me as recovering in new leather. If it's just a black leather seat, then all you would need to do is use a thick chap or garmenbt hide to recover it with, and in the long run youd get a much better result. Ken
