For anyone that wonders about where a certain e-mail has come from, all you have to do is "right click" the e-mail in your lisy, then click "properties" this will bring up a screen that shows you a bunch of stuff that may confuse you, but I'll try to explain it here. 3. Very nice looking purse Gampa, and a very noble gesture as well. Ken
  4. Just had a look at the map, and it seems like everybody has gone....where'd everyone go? It seems so lonely now. Ken

  7. Johanna, a stupid question here, but.... if your in a Honda, in the middle of Missouri, how are you able to post to the forum???? This kinda tells me you got a NICE laptop with some sort of fancy wireless web thingy. I'd be interested to know what your using for this amazing feat of posting to the forum from a moving vehicle in Missouri. Ken

  9. Leatheroo, Check this out, I found the link to the pics he posted on the Biker Forum. Hole Punch Ken
  10. Leatheroo, I hear you load and clear about punching holes...LOL... I also saw that picture of the drill being used. I myself would never use such a method for the simple fact that there is a possibility that the leather may "catch" and go flinging out of your hand, and then spin wildly around the drill bit. Are you just punching holes into veg tan leather, or is it also like garment leather? I have a set of punches by Al Stohlman that I use, but I punch each hole individually. Some items like a vest have in excess of 800 holes. For my hats I use the same 4 prong punch that you have described, and a hat has about 260 holes. There is a member here that had a custom made air opperated hole punch made for him by some people in the US, they made it and sent it to him without him even knowing about it. He had complained on a Biker Forum just like you are now, and some of them got together and did this for him. His name here is Gremlin, and maybe if you sent him a PM, he would show you pics on how it was made. Just a tought, tell him I told you about the hole punch. Ken
  11. I'm thinking that the tools with the rust on the actual pattern of the tool are done for. Even if you could get all the rust out, the rust will have left a pit mark where it was. Replating is going to be more expensive than new tools I would think. As for the ones that are rusted on the knurls and such, just use your dremel with a wire wheel and then paint with a rust paint. The duct tape residue can be removed with a product sold at Home depot called "Goo Be Gone" this stuff is amazing at taking gunk like that off of anything. Good Luck Ken
  12. Hi all, Since I have been getting e-mails on a regular basis regarding the way my website worked under Firefox, I decided to change the whole layout. I downloaded Firefox and while running both IE7 and Firefox, built a new site. The only thing I have'nt been able to get to work on the Firefox is the "Hat Sizing" chart. I believe it is because it is done as a "Table", I'll probably have to make one as a JPEg, and use it instead. But if you all would'nt mind having a look, and letting me know how it works, and also if you see any mistakes, I would appreciate it. As staring at this monitor building the site has worn my eyes down, all the extra eyes would really help out. Thanks Ken
  13. Ed, I bought the 400XPR Kit from Dremel 3 years ago for $249.00 Canadian. Back then that would have been about $150 USD. I'm pretty sure you can pick one up for much cheaper now. It has all the attachments you'd ever need for leatherwork and then some. It is variable speed and has the Flex shaft as well. I just found this link $109 USD for the 400XPR Ken
  14. Well Mike, I can't see any mistakes at all. It looks real good to me, the flowers are exceptional. Ken
  15. Ed, I'm not familiar with that rivet, but I have never had a problem with any of the rivets or snaps that I have used. My belief is, if it has a stud that has to be expanded to create the securing of the rivet or snap, the length is in most cases the length of the stud is made to accomodate more than one thickness of material. Thus, cutting it down to a shorter length will not harm or take away from the strength. Just be careful you don't cut off to much. I will always do a few "Test" ones just to be sure. Ken
  16. Mike, yep I use a mallet and anvil. Also, I'll trial and error a few before I get the right length of cutting. Ken
  17. Mike, What I've done, is depending on the thickness of the leather I'm putting the snap into, I will cut a bit of the stud off. This keeps it from causing that deformation of the button. Ken
  18. Ah, thanks Dave, stupid me thought it was a film for keeping water out on the finished seat..LOL Ken
  19. Very nice again Dave. I really like the color of those. What is the thin plastic film on the back of the other one for? Ken
  20. That's pretty cool Regis, I've never seen anything like it either. Ken
  21. Very nice LJ. I like the way the sheath molds around the handle like it dies. The knife making is really starting to intrique me, I visit "British Blades" forum from the UK, and am very intriqued at all the diferent types of knives that are made there. Ken
  22. That's a very original looking tank bib Mike, I really like it. Great work and thanks for sharing it with us. Ken
