  1. That is beautiful work sojourner, I'm very impressed with the designs of your purses, and the stamping is just wonderful. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to seeing more. Ken
  2. Not boring by any means Mike. Thanks for the explanation on how you did it, much appreciated. Ken
  3. Well, it looks very good so far Mike, I can't wait to see it finished. And by looking at the pics Johanna has uploaded of this years show, I know what you mean by intimidating, but I do think you would win a blue ribbon or two. Your work is VERY good. Ken
  4. Welcome to the forum Tom. As the others have said, with bracelets wallets and such, you will only need a basic set of tools. There's no need to go out and spend hundreds of pounds to aquire a whole bunch of things that you will never use. The most important thing is to buy the right leather for stamping and carving. You will need to use "Veg Tanned" leather for this, and it should be available in the UK. You have made the first step a positive one, by joining the forum and asking questions. You will find that there are an abundance of people here that will freely give of their time and knowledge to help you along the way. Good Luck, and looking forward to those pics. Ken
  5. Mike, welcome again. About the comment you made "but I was not satisfied with my work " well I'm no judge at the show, but I'm pretty sure you would have come away with a blue ribbon or two. I looked at the work you have on your website, and I am TOTALLY impress with your talents. You have the gift my friend. Very inspiring to see such great work. Ken
  6. Welcome to the forum Mike. As asked before, what did you use for the briliant colors. Nice work by the way. Ken
  7. Very nice looking saddle snake. You guys always amaze me at the work that goes into one of those, just the engineering of it amazes me, and all the carving...WOW. Ken

  11. Belated welcome fluidium, thats a real interesting shape you've got there. How did you make the spout shape? Was it preformed before you wrapped it around the end pieces? Ken

  15. Johanna, The "View Profile" problem is still there. You get a "Can't display page" message, then if you backclick, the page shows up. But some peoples profiles are missing the "Recent Vieweres" and others are not. Enjoy the show by the way. Ken
  16. Glad to meet you Rundi. Carrot cake is my favorite, especially with that cream cheese icing. Ken
  17. JPH, it would be interesting to know what and how you make your own dyes out of. We are always looking for new ways of doing things. Making dyes has always interested me. Ken
  18. Rundi, we would all really like you to join the forum I believe. What does everyone else think? Ken
  19. Bruce, not sure if this is him or not, but I found this in a google search. Ben Veach Ken
  20. Very nicely done Peter. What did you use to shape the Bottel? Ken
  21. Welcome to the forum Jim. As Regis said, there are many people here that are more than happy to help uou out in any way they can. If you have questions, post a pick of what you've done, and someone will be able to describe or show you through pictures just what and how to do it. Good luck, and don't give up. Ken
  22. Clay, sorry to hear about all the medical problems. All I can think of though, is it was probably better to see a urinologist, rather than a proctologist. As for salt. I quite using it 4 1/2 years ago, and have never missed it, the coffee on the other hand...NEVER EVER going to quit, how else does an old man wake up in the morning. Ken
  23. Kevin, very nicely done. I like the red thread that you used, adds some nice contrast to the seat. Ken
  24. Tony, those look real nice. The roo lace you use, do you dye it yourself? Ken
