Nice looking seat Roger. I'm sorry to here about the slowdown in business, up here it seems like it's picked up a bit, but mostly with orders going down to the US. Let's hope it picks up again real soon. Ken

custom seat for a Harley Sportster
Beaverslayer replied to Billy P's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
Well due to all the sub-prime mortgages down in the Us, and a whole lot of other things going on in the world today, it works out to $400.80 US at todays exchange rate. The Canadian dollar has NEVER EVER traded this high before. It works great for me, but is a real bad thing for others that rely on exporting goods to the US. Ken -

Well that's just way too cool Azmal, I really like the Python inlay, adds a real dragon scale look to it. Very nice. Ken -

custom seat for a Harley Sportster
Beaverslayer replied to Billy P's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
Billy, I just took an order from a person in California to recover a brand new 21 x 12 Corbin solo seat. It will have just a minimal Celtic knot and a small tribal, like a tattoo in the rise at the back of the seat. My price for this is $365.00 Canadian Dollars. This would be more if there was going to be more carving on it. Ken -

Welcome to the forum Ryan. That's some beautiful work you've done there, saddle makers just impress the hell out of me with all the detailed carving and work that goes into one. I really like the Ostrich seat, nust wonder what it does to the old derier after a days ride. Ken

Go2Tex, what I do is place the tip of my thumb right up against the roo hide as it enters the cutter. By adjusting the pressure on the roo as it enters, you can keep it from curling up. Basically what you're doing with your thumb, is what you suggest with the plug, but you don't have to figure out what size of what to plug in there. Also, a VERY sharp blade really is the key. Ken

Welcome to the forum Tom, glad to hear that you've already been able to get some help. Nice looking bracers there also, thanks for sharing. Ken

Which seam do ya'll like best?
Beaverslayer replied to Kevin King's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Hands down Kevin, the one with the red skull. That seam is so much nicer with the folded in joint. Ken
