  1. Sawyer, to be able to stretch the leather around the pan without leaving wrinckles or puckers, you have to wet the leather first. This will allow the leather to form around the edge of the pan. Trying to pull dry leather tightly around the pan is going to be very hard, and will result in the problems you're having. Ken
  2. Welcome to the forum Claudia and Randy, that's some very amazing work you do. The stiching and even the layout of all those pieces must take forever. Please post more pics. Ken
  3. Works GREAT again...thanks Johanna, you're the BEST. Ken

  6. freak, you're talent is growing day by day. I love the WIP pics, as we can all see each step you take in the progress. Great Deer by the way, so much better than the first "Killer Deer" you showed us. Ken
  7. Great to hear your back in the limelight Roger. That's a sweet looking seat going on a sweet looking bike. Great work. Ken
  8. Luke, as Beeza has stated, it all depends on how fast you can punch the holes and then lace. You also have to remember that for about 9 feet of lacing, you are going to need about 75 feet of lace. I have worked out how long it takes me to lace one foot of all the different laces I do, and I charge an hourly rate based on that. Sometimes people think it's too much, but most times it works out, and they agree to go ahead. Ken
  9. Kodiak, I'm pretty sure Powder Blue is out for pretty much everything I make, and I have never used Latigo. But as Wolvie says, try a piece, there's a chance it might take. One thing though, the gun case would probably scare of any big game you may encounter in Africa. Ken
  10. Heather, very beautiful leash...and GO PACKERS...my Favorite team. Ken
  11. Happy birthday Bruce, have a GREAT and WONDERFUL day. Ken
  12. Welcome Jim, great to have you here on the forum. You will find that everyone is very friendly and always willing to answer any questions. Ken
  13. The people a Tandy will also tell you that the Fiebings White Dye is not a very good product. All I ever use it for is to lighten the color of other dyes. It tends to just soak into the leather, and will take way too many coats to make any change in color. Using an Acrylic based paint is more the way to go. I have evn used the Testers Model paint on occassion, but only in places that are not subjected to twisting or much movement. Ken
  14. Welcome to the forum Kani, you will find that evryone here is very friendly and always willing to help out. Let us know what you are doing in leather, and maybe even post some pics. ken
  15. Very beautiful work Darrell, the contrasting colors and the stitching is just wonderful. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum. Ken
  16. Welcome to the forum skip, that's a very good looking canteen there. The carving is very clean. Ken
  17. Johanna, I have been working on a hat tutorial for some time now. I had lost it in the crash of my HD. I didn't realise just how many things go into making a hat. Well when you have made over 300 of them it's just second nature. Hopefully soon I will finish the instructions and upload them. Ken
  18. Beautiful work Roger, I just LOVE that color. What is it exactly? Ken
  19. Beautiful work again Larry, thanks for sharing. Ken
  20. What I do when I need the holes exactly cventered, is to make an exect copy of the item out of "Poster Board". Mark where the holes have to be, then punch holes in the poster board larger than what is needed. Then using a GEL pen, I will mark the holes while the template is laying on top of the item. By making round marks, you wil be able to line the punch's outer edge with the marks, and punch perfectly. When purchasing the GEL pen, be sure to take a piece of leather with you, and be sure that it is one that will just rub off of leather once written on it. There are some that will not clean off easily, and others that will just wpie right off leaving no trace at all. Hope this helps Ken
  21. Extremely nice looking Kevin, I really like the different color of threads. That ads so much to the whole wallet. Great work and thanks for sharing. Ken
  22. Ever since the Profile views went down a while back, the "profiles view" hasn't been working either. I think the two are related to each other in some way. And yes the back button is getting a bit worn out....LOL Ken
  23. The way you just described the Black one, it's sounds to me that it is Lambskin. Does the hair side have a "blueish" tinge to it? Ken
  24. Welcome to the forum, very nice looking rig you got there. Thanks for sharing. Ken
