Try taking photos outside in the shade. Often helps when you don't have a light box or such. Photos and strap look very nice. Please post photos on this site. Using 3rd party hosting sites often results in the photos disappearing due to changes in the host permissions or the owner moving or deleting the photo. Then the thread becomes useless in the future when users want to peruse or study it. There are some helps here for posting on this site and resizing photo files to fit the size requirements here. More options for resizing can be found on the web.

Need to crop the distracting out of focus stuff in the background. Then you can have better visual resolution of the knife edge. There is an art to good photography. -

CF Stead Exotics: Kudu and Unicorn (yes Unicorn)
Northmount replied to nstarleather's topic in Old/Sold
Some interesting looking leather there! If I wasn't so far away and across borders, I'd likely have to grab some of your sales, even though I have enough in my closet to keep me busy for quite some time. Hard to turn down nice leather! -
@Kjypower You have posted this in the for sale section (Marketplace). If you are selling it, it belongs here, if not, it needs be moved, and I can do that. So if you are selling, you must post a price in US$. Any shipping information needs to be included. Will you ship? Who pays? Please read this and comply with the instructions.

@broanl I wouldn't sand even with the finest paper. The original surface of the leather leather won't match the sanded spots. They will stand out, take dyes and finishes differently, usually darker. You could try with a Sharpy felt tip pen to darken just the spots. Another possible is to use a cotton q-tip with deglazer or acetone to remove the finish and the glue or contaminant, carefully re-dye just the cleaned spot and apply the finish. You may be able to blend the dye and finish into the surrounding area as you apply it.

@broanl Please upload your photos directly to this site. Your photo file was too large and needed to be resized to fit the restrictions. 3rd party hosted files often go missing due to changes made by the host, or permissions changed, or OP has moved or deleted the file. That makes the thread useless to those that want to follow or learn from your experience in the future. Many users here will not download random 3rd party items due to possible risks, so you lose their help that they might have provided. There is some info and helps at this link about resizing files and posting. Plus lots more info on the web.

Skipped stitch(es) after a turn is likely due to making the turn before the needle has risen about 1/4", turning the loop away from the hook or shuttle.

Pictures? Would like to see them. -
@benlilly1 Picked the 3rd photo. The posted size appears to be 154 x 206 pixels. Suggested minimum size would be 800 x 600 pixels. Hope this helps in your photo resizing. I appreciate your posts and great work.

So reduce the file size. Many tools available on the web, or your own device may already have them. Check out this link for some helps and suggestions.

@Zlatagor to tag a person, type the username and pick from the pop up list by clicking or tapping the name in the list. @mdawson in case my edit above didn't tag/notify you.

@HBHays13 Moved your post to Marketplace > Items For Sale > Machinery -- Sewing and Stitching > Used Belongs here rather than in Marketplace > Announcements.

OP hasn't been around since June 2021. I'm archiving this thread.

Thought I should bump this post to the end. This thread is now locked.

Tag Mdawson so he gets a notification. Like this @mdawson As you type the screen name, a box pops up with possibles, click/tap the name in the box and it makes the tag. Alternately, quoting some part of the person's post should send them a notification.

CB4500 completely infuriating dropped stitch problem
Northmount replied to voidsurfer's topic in Sewing Leather
Try delaying your turn/pivot until the needle has risen about 1/4" or more so the hook has caught the top thread. Pivoting before the hook has caught the thread turns the loop away from the hook. Your internal pivots turn the loop towards the hook, external turns the loop away from the hook resulting in dropped stitch. -

Just a little info shows that the site was registered. https://www.ipaddress.com/site/www.newsafetyideas.com -
OP hasn't been around for a couple years. This should have been archived 2 months after posting, so that is where it's going now.

You can tag the persons you are interested in contacting like this: @samadlingtonleather so they get a notice. The OP hasn't been on the site since October 2020, but might respond to a tag. -
Tag him like this so he gets a notification: @Josacraw Tymefixer has a question for you.

Only moderators can "take down" a post. If you are wanting to redo this post with photos, just go ahead and post the photos to this thread. Once an item has been sold or is no longer available, add a post that says so and we will archive it (lock it and move to Old/Sold). I try to follow all the marketplace items and archive them as they are marked sold.
