  1. Increase the pressure on the presser foot. The leather may be lifting up and losing the loop so the hook can't catch it when you are on thick or harder leather. Happened to me last week!
  2. Moved to leather sewing machines
  3. @HectorsZsazsa Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines. You'll get more help here. Help Wanted requires moderator approval for every post. It is more like the newspaper classified ads, looking for work or help wanted - old stuff!
  4. I've cleaned nasty smelling hides with liquid saddle soap, soaked well and rinsed well after that.
  5. Moved this thread to Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners. Thinking about pinning it to the top.
  6. Same procedure as uploading a picture, just select the PDF file on your device. Has same size requirements for all uploads. So don't try to attach more than one file. You'll see a little further back that I edited and uploaded a file from his dropbox. The second file would have been accepted if the total hadn't gone over the size limit. (And for larger files, send me a message and I will give you an address to send the file to and will upload it. I have no file size restriction, at least not any that I have tried to see what it was. 20 or 30 MB.)
  7. Moved to leather sewing machines instead of the Marketplace for sale stuff.
  8. Please read the marketplace rules and comply. You need to state a price in US$. You need to identify shipping available or not and who pays, etc.
  9. You need to either quote the persons post or tag him/her so he/she gets a notice, especially since this is an old thread last active in 2014. Take a look at the Tandy Craftaid Template Database on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1373586829381487
  10. Many old brand books are available online for several US states and western Canada provinces. https://lis-ab.com/brands/brand-books/ for example.
  11. Many ranchers and feed lot operators here use ear tags too. But when cattle are rustled and ear tags cut off, it's hard to identify the owner. Has been some big thefts in this area in the last couple months. Costing owners thousands $. They pull into a pasture or leased grazing area with a couple large cattle liners, load up and off they go! Many of these locations do not have any homes within miles/kilometres.
  12. The OP hasn't been back to this site since July 26 so appears that he isn't really interested in selling or it's already sold. I'm locking this thread and moving it to OLD/SOLD.
  13. Please post your photos here instead of using 3rd party hosting. Any changes to the host's policies, or you moving or deleting them or cancelling your account results in a post or thread that has no value to future users. I have resized and posted your photos, deleting the 3rd party host link. Pictures are 800 pixels in the longest dimension. You can see that it provides all the resolution necessary to see all the detail required.
  14. She hasn't been back on the site since she posted the ad. According to her ad, she is in Montreal Quebec, Canada. @MaureenR Are you still interested in selling your machine?
  15. I have a "horse of a different colour" as the old saying goes. When I was a teenager, I bought a horse from the Blood Reserve (natives). He had a lazy B on the right shoulder as that was an identifier for the Blood Reserve, and a 121 on the right hip signifying the native who had owned it. So 2 brands, but only 1 previous owner. I would also guess that sometimes cattle were re-branded when sold to a different ranch/owner, though I hadn't seen any such cases in my few years around cattle, farms, and ranches as a teen.
  16. The angled bolt looks like it is part of a motor tension system. Also looks similar to brackets used to clamp work lights to a table.
  17. I think you have been using pre-lubricated thread. Several years ago, Tandy supplied white pre-lubricated thread in 1# spools. I have purchased pre-lubricated thread here. "We are now having our own brand of bonded and pre-lubricated* nylon and polyester thread made for us, under the Cowboy label." I have been using their thread for several years. It's not as "wet" as the Tandy thread was, hardly leaves any deposit on the needle, most of the time, not noticeable at all.
  18. Moved your post to leather sewing machines.
  19. You need to post your location. From your IP address you appear to be in the Dallas Texas area. You could update your profile with your location.
  20. Location: Costa Mesa - according to his profile
  21. Just semantics, but 0 rpm is stopped, not running. The question really is, what speed does it start out at, and does it have enough torque to punch through the leather?
  22. There are lots of options as to how to reduce the file size. Please do it and post your photos here. See this thread for some helps plus tons more on the internet. By the way, LW messages have the same size restrictions.
  23. It appears you are selling this item so moved it to the Marketplace. Please provide complete description, does it work, etc. Read the marketplace rules and comply. You need to provide a price. Some info on resizing and posting photos https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=721688 If this post doesn't help, scroll back up the thread and there are lots more helps and suggestions. Don't post heic files as many people can not view them. Convert or save them as jpeg files.
  24. Moved this to the Marketplace as that is where it belongs. Besides the price, please read the Marketplace rules and comply. Please describe the condition. Does it operate correctly?
