  1. I need some tan colored Cape Buffalo for an upcoming project. Does anyone have a small piece they would sell, or can someone point me in the proper direction to buy some. Thanks!
  2. I really like when the browns take on a marbled effect. I even offer a color that is marbled intentionally
  3. Buy that holster, use the paddle. I have a customer who LOVES paddle holsters so thats what we typically do.
  4. Anyone else get the notice from PayPal that they will be holding funds for up to 21 days after a payment is received? Sure wish there was a viable alternative to these milkers. Im not sure what this will do to my business.

One of my gun forums dropped PayPal after they requested account info from the website. They said that buying gun parts with PP was against the terms of use. Gary told them to pound sand, and they are now using Gearpay last I remember-haven't been on the site for a few years now. PayPal is a division of Epay, and both have some anti firearms regs.

Personally I still go with personal checks when I deal with out of state purchases.

Just about all of my Ebay auctions, paypal holds the funds for about that long .

Thank you LNLeather; I understand better now. I have over 600+ feedback on eBay as a seller and a buyer w/a 100% rating. The only time I've ever had funds held was when I bought a laptop from a guy out of state. Once delivery was confirmed and I was satisfied, the funds were released... only about 5 business days.

PP does have stipulations regarding funds holding, and they don't seem that difficult to meet. Perhaps a review of the rest of that page might clear some con...

  6. And like that.............. it was gone.
  7. Ordered this just to find that I already had one Just the standard, no rail 229 Will sell for 35 dollars shipped or trade for a dummy that I dont already own. Will also trade for exotic leather like beaver tail, elephant, etc... Thanks!
  8. Speaking strictly in mathematics: For a 1.5" belt I use a 1.6" slot, if it is perpendicular to the belt. If I were to rotate that slot 20 degrees, the belt slot now needs to be 1.7" long to compensate for the angle.
  9. Not bad at all. You are going to find that the sharp upswing you did in front of the trigger guard isnt going to act the way you think it will. It just one of those things you'll learn to work with/around in time. Post more pics when youre done!
  10. I would think that a slanted slot gives more surface area which would be more secure?
  11. I make mine 3/8 wide, and 0.10" longer than the belt size.
  12. You could sandwich in the standard T-Nut. You would more than likely need to purchase the appropriate sized tap and tap the threads all the way through the T-Nut so that you could thread the fastener in from either side. Honestly I think an IWB built like that is a terrible idea. Holsters typically take a "set" after being worn a bit, and you would be asking that holster to switch from a right side curve to a left side curve whenever it was changed.
  13. This tool from Tandy is what youre after. Use it while the leather is damp. http://www.tandyleat...s/88081-00.aspx
  14. I use 180lb cover paper. Works well for a pretty long time. I use a pen to trace it to the leather so I dont get knife strikes or anything on the edges.
  15. Thanks all. Dwight, I'd be interested in seeing the clips you mention. His request was for 1.75" capacity clips and these are what my local Tandy offered in that size. If you can post a link or something that would be great. TwoMikes: I thought about sleeving the clip but then worried about the extra material causing trouble. Hopefully there is enough on the bottom of the holster to prevent that from happening. Also, there is a leather washer sandwiched between the holster and the clip. I do this on all my IWB's and carried it over to this one for the reason you mentioned.
  16. Nice work! How many beers did it take to think that up?
  17. Theyre going to. This particular customer has arthritis and has trouble with the regular snap loops, thus the request for the steel clips. I have some kydex scraps. I might try to form some tomorrow. Dont know if they would work better or not though. Thanks!
  18. I drew this up for a customer who requested spring steel clips on his IWB. I can only imagine that its not an original design, although I havent seen one myself. Anyway it's a pancake style IWB holster with the clips attached low on the leather. There is a leather spacer between the body of the holster and the clip. It is all attached very tightly with a single Chicago Screw on each clip. They clip does not rotate. Im ready to send this one out, but wanted to run it by you all first and see if anything jumps out at you as a horrible idea. Thanks!
  19. My hole-to-hole measurement for the snap straps in 4-3/8". I also wet form around a double layer belt blank
  20. I tried every tool imaginable. This is what I do now, and it works awesome. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=33907
  21. I bought up this same concern to the guy I ordered from yesterday, and told him if necessary to split it from a much heavier piece of leather to insure a smooth back and that I would pay the difference in price, if any. He didnt seem to comprehend what I was saying, so we'll see what shows up here. I also feel like he got smart alecky with me when I asked what colors of leather they had available. He told me "all of them". I should have ordered fuchsia. Like the leather. Dont like the phone sales people so much though.
