Papabear, The ones i have are refered to as APEX SEAM STAPLER.
APEX BUCKLE HAND TOOL. USES ARE FOR STAPELING SEAMS SO THEY WILL
NOT RIP OUT. ALSO THEY ARE USED FOR FASTING SMALL BUCKLES
ON SHOES. THE #1 THING THEY WERE USED IN THE SHOE INDUSTRY
FOR WAS ATTACHING BOWS AND MAKING TASSELS FOR LOAFER SHOES.
I HOPE YOU DID GET SOME STAPLES FOR TOOL. IT TOOK ME 3 YEARS TO FIND
THEM. APEX QUIT MAKING THEM.
bugsy, i have made a few, back in the 60's i did enjoy makin them.
the only downfaults are it will be heavy on your head if you use firm leather,
i did use veg tan leather. If you use chrom tan the hat will be floppy and might
not keep the shape that you want it to have.
the only instructions that i have seen was the Tandy Pattern.
there were 3 types of hats that could be made from it.

A QUESTION FOR THE FOURM.
SOME ONE WANTS A VERY LARGE ITEM
LACED. with a double loop stich.
what is the going price?
this item will be 8' 10'' of lacing.
that " Axe Strap" is sharp looking. what color is that.?
now what is the story with your sewing machine stiching?
hate to ask
that hole for the peg or straplock should be at the bottom
with the slit at the top, and it should be at least up 2'' from
the bottom of the strap. I M H O.
Barge glue ?, Masters glue ? (6 to 1 -1/2 dozen to the other)
follow the directions clean and prep the surfaces, you will have good luck
with either.
The person that will be sewing the soles for you, would he not sell you some glue?
bill, i do my Belts 3'' wide with the Billets 1-1/2" wide.
if you are making the loops for a .22Mag.. that cartrige is 1-5/16" long
mabey to look more in porportion the belt could be 2-1/2'' wide
with a billets 1-1/4....
